My son scares me sometimes

My son woke up in the night and didn't want to go back to sleep. He is a night owl. I was letting him seeing my esasperation. At first i was sweet, talked to him softly and told him he needed to sleep. The whole, good night, sleep tight. But he wanted to stay awake and chat and be up and about. Then I said things like, "Go to sleep now Robbie!" in a stern voice. Not very nanny like, who thinks you should let them cry in their room and gently put them back to sleep. If Robbie were to scream like he does if I leave him to fall asleep on his own - he'd scream for literally an hour and by the time one of the neighbors would've called the police. I also hate to hear him cry like that! Then I thought he had fallen asleep he had been laying quietly for awhile. then he points to the ceiling and says, "Mommy, Robbie wants to go home, up there!" You can't imagine the scary thoughts that cross my mind at 2AM. He wants to go to heaven? He really is an alien? A hyprid as his dad and I used to joke before he was born. "Up there, Daddy's house!" "Is that mommy's house too (Don't ask me why I was humouring him)? The other wierd thing is that, before I heard him say this - when you're a mom I think you just aware of these things even in the next room. Half listening for a sick child or a nightmare. Oh what I was going to say is that the other wierd thing is that prior to this utturance I was helping myself go back to sleep by "day"dreaming about the mountain home I really want and thinking in detail how I would change and add to this fixer upper. And no, wasn't thinking aloud. I've heard of other strange things kids say, like I died here in this road, I was in a car accident - little kids saying this or describing past lives in detail. My little one has been saying things like, "Mommy robbie alive!" Where he got the concept of alive and not, not sure! Has your child ever said anything really disturbing to you?

Hi Artemis, Sounds like you have an old soul there in a young body, I have known many children comeout with things that seem strange to us but normal to them as they are young they have no idea of what is unusal, weird or tactful to say they just say it. My own son after a week long hopital stay where they couldn't find out what was wrongwith him looked up to the sky and said can't you see the other world mummy? My daughter usedto be able to see a sprit child when she was smaller. Huggles. Ellie :D

My son has always tracked things up above him and now that he talks he talks about the doctors (angels in white) above him in the dark and other things. Did it make you nervous that he could see that world? And your daughter seeing the spirit child. It said that kids can see the veil between worlds or othr things spirts until they get older - likely told over and over there is nothing there. I tell him no no there is nothing up there when he describes things he sees. Maybe that makes me a bad mom... Ellie I really hope you're having a great day! Wish you guys lived in Texas!

Hi Artemis, No it has never froghtened me and I just accept what they are saying, I used to experience this when I was a child and still do to a degree and I was always told it was because I had a vivid imagination but it was real to me so when myown children talk to me about what ,y brother calls my eebie geebie stuff I just accept it. It doesn't make you a bad mum because you say no there is nothing there but next time maybe talk to him more about what he sees and youmay find he opens up more to you. I think we all have the ability but havegot so out of touch with our spiritual selves in the modern day that as we get older we dismiss it rather than go with it. You have a good day too. Never know one day I might turn up in Texa! Huggles. Ellie :D

He's a slow talker, sometimes he speaks in full and clear sentences and sometimes its all jumbled and though there are times he answers ?'s other times he just says, yeah. I don't know waht else to do if he is disturbed by things he sees or thinks he sees.....but i'll try. this is a vacation place ellie- we live on padre island. The ocean is right across the street - too hot right now though!

I remember vividly, as does my mom, me coming into her room one night when I seven. I woke her up and told her there was a man in my room with a knife. I remember waking up, and seeing a man in front of my bed with a knife. I remember clear as day. But of course when my mom went back to my room with me, there was no man. So that was definitely weird. It's so strange that it seemed so real to me back then. But apparently despite this anomaly I grew up to be normal. Apparently...
