recently i have been cleaning our bedrooms and i'm shocked how many electronic gadgets which are old and broken ones are there. there were old diskettes,cd's vcd's,keyboard, mouse, printers and headsets all over the closet.
how can i dispose them? is there possibilities of selling them in junk shops?
there were printers which i know can function but there's no ink on it.
actually i have two printers here which i want to sell if ever, but i really don't think if it really functions well. can you suggest something how can i dispose them?
please,i want to lessen the things that are not needed in the house anymore,so please give me some ideas how to dispose them...
thanks to all!

hi vi,
well actually i know that i can't be a good help for you here...hehe because i am not the one disposing all those things in the house. its my husband who do it and usually when it comes to me, i just put all of them in one place so that it will not irritate my eyes seeing them. hehe
maybe you can sell those in some shops who's buying scrap things or maybe you can get it checked to know if they are already hopeless or if there's something you can do to fix them...

yeah, i told you, even if im kinda busy if i have time i will visit mylot and my friends. im missing the site and everybody when i don't visit.
true, sometimes we think that our things are already useless coz they are no longer functioning the way it is before, but with some skillful people, they can still make it work good and can be deal for a good price...hehe

helloo cK! i'm happy you made an effort being here...
well, thanks for the info,i know it's much more of men's things.
yeah,i would go for selling them in junk shops which those useless gadgets are for,but those which are still functioning might as well repair them then sell in much higher prize.

hi again cK,i hope we could chat again soon. well, as of now,i haven't been much staying here for a while cause i'm kinda busy on offline stuffs. i guess, you are too.
yeah,we shouldn't have to dispose them without even realizing if they would still work, after all we have gained benefit from those things, better fix it and sell it for what prize it deserves to be.it's like our funds from there have been given back to us,right?

i really appreciate your skills of arts as i am also a low standard artist. i understand the feelings when we gift something to someone made by own hand. i had that habit but i think i was not so expert as you. i just can art portrait or something and i gifted one of my works to my beloved. she accepted it with heartily even she collaborated it with her wish but unfortunately she is not mine now.
let them go. that was an another story but now a days i have left making those items. so sorry to say you friend.
take care and have a nice day/.

hello again,my friend!
well,i'm not that an expert when it comes to arts.
i just think of stuffs that will be useful and make it to letters and give it to friends. actually,my sister used to do some paper mache and her friends really liked her work.i told her to sell some so that she could earn, cause she has good art crafts back there.well,i think anyone can do arts but we all differ in how it is presented.
but i really loved the idea of giving gifts with your own efforts.
it's really well appreciated and the person you'll be given to will be touched as well.
cause if you give someone made by your own,it will be a sweet act. and who wouldn't want that, right?
you can draw?or paint? oh,how i wished i could also paint,my friend!
i'm not that good when it comes to drawing as well.i thought when i was a child i would become a great painter or something, but unfortunately no.
oh,you left painting? why?
do you have a girlfriend now or wife?
so sad to hear your story.

thanks for the info my friend, you are right.
if the things stocked there at your house can be useful enough to recycle, think of ways it can be useful. and if not, sell them in junk shops for it may be useful there.
there are things also in our daily lives that are just thrown away but for some people it is their treasure.i kinda like collecting stuffs like broken earrings or bracelets then i worked it as art crafts for something like scrapbook or something to be given to other friends. it's nice to give gifts to friends when you really make an effort on it,right? i really loved giving gifts with touch of art.
how about you? have you ever done art crafts then give it or sell it to others?
i'd like to know from you my friend.

hello yresh, seems like you have posted to the wrong path,
but yeah,i think i would really love to get profit from those old stuffs rather than to sell it with low amount or just give them away,i also want to have profit and money from that cause i really have to have money right now..

It's so easy; in malls like SM Shopping malls they are areas wherein some boxes are displayed for your junk electronic gadgets. They also buy some junks like bottles, styrofoams, plastics etc.

I've never been to SM Marikina branch but I think if they have here in SM Bicutan maybe it's available also in Marikina. Try to bring your printers, they have schedules posted at the facade of the mall. In Bicutan it's every fourth week of the month. If you have their landline numbers please call them for verification.

I think it's a good idea to sell them to the junk shops. They can better dispose off your trash, and you could earn a little from them. If your gadgets are still working, why not have a garage sale? Maybe some neighbors may be interested in your stuff.

do you know how can i figure out if it still works?
cause it would be a shame if i sell them not knowing if it will still function the way it should be,right? just imagine how bad it is if someone i sold it to gets mad for learning that it was not really functioning?
i don't have inks for me to know if it still works and now i don't have the plug where i can attach it to my computer. so i'm really dumb about this.

hmm...that is a dilemma. isn't there anyone you could ask for help on whether the gadgets work or not? maybe a neighbor or a friend or a family member? or, you could say at the garage sale that you're not sure if it works. although, of course it would fetch a less price than when you're sure that it still works.

MOst of the time, i will be throwing them away, or giving them away if it's still in working condition.. I wont bother to try selling them, for i know, it's gonna take a long time.. haha =D
SO instead of me going thru the hassle for a few bunks, i might as well give it for free.. UNless it's old cellphones, only then i will be selling them, as they are able to fetch a higer price, depending on the conditon.. hehe

Hi annavi! I also have some keyboards, old printers that still
work that just need ink, a fax machine that I think just needs
ink too and some other things like that and I am never sure
what to do with either. I think that it depends on where you
live and what the recycling/disposing laws/rules are! For me,
I usually just end up putting them outide by the "tree" and
someone always takes it and probably tries to fix it! I live
in the USA and the people in my neighborhood will take anything
you leave out! But, the things that I know still work for sure
I would like to have a "tag sale" and sell myself to get some
extra money for!

hi opal, nice to see you again.
oh,you just put them outside your house?
well,in those cases yeah,i also think other countries like you are living in people would take whatever is left outside the house. yeah,it's much more nicer to have someone fix it,but do you know that you can have profits from there also?
not just giving them away? well,i think you are kinda rich so it doesn't matter to you if you just throw them away.
uhm, yeah i think it's much better to have "tag sale" on those items which is still working.that's a nice point of view.
i think i'd also do the same, just to get rid of those things.
well,in our place, i just keep my old stuffs behind the house so i can still think of what am i gonna do with those old things.i don't have the habit of throwing things just like that. if i think it would still be repaired or recycled or make money from it,i'd gladly do whatever has to be done.i remember my sister told me,i was kinda "garbage woman". i always keep old things which to them is a garbage.
maybe it's because i wanted to make something out of those old things.i can do art from it,and make money or do art with it and give it to friends.
it's much worth it if those old stuffs can be used to other useful things, right?
unfortunately,i haven't turned my garbages into cash.
i wished i can be that artistic and wiser when it comes to making money out of garbages. if you know something art turns to money there, can you suggest me some?
big thanks for that!

I dispose them safely..by giving it to junk shops...
e-waste is growing problem nowadays,...
waste like picture tube....pose serious threats to health...
so we must do it the right way...to dispose it..and not throw it away causing hazards...
thanks for sharing..
have a great day/night..........

hi sagar, yeah i know it is becoming a growing problem specially nowadays.
most people from everywhere have gadgets they just throw everywhere,it can be hazardous and it can cause something bad to our health if not disposed properly.
so,i am starting this discussion so other people also would be aware of such waste they are just kept on throwing anywhere.
i think it is more convenient for me to sell it to junk shops or sell it if it can be repaired,so i can also have profits from it...
nice day my friend!

You can try selling them in junk shops. Or try looking for malls where they put a container for recycling electronic gadgets. We have those kind of malls here in our country. You can put there your broken cellphones, useless batteries, power supply, etc. You should really properly dispose those things.

hi jugger, yeah i know that mall once,i also put some of my used batteries from cellphones there, also useless charges and stuffs.but i never placed old cellphones there cause cellphones can still be sold even for a little amount, this amount will help me get to home,,
yeah,we should really dispose those things properly.

junk shops will take them but they will say that not all the parts of the gadget is useable so they can't give you a really good price for it. have you considered having a garage sale? you might earn more if you have one then the stuff that don't get sold can go to the junk shop.
@annavi23 (6522)

yeah i know in junk shops i can't have higher prizes there cause if it's junk it's useless and it is being not nice to demand a prize not necessary to those that i have to sell. i haven't tried garage sale cause it's just little pieces of gadgets that's why it's harder to put up a garage sale for that.maybe i would like to try it if it still works then sell it to it's reasonable prize.

You can try to recycle them or sell them. If you recycle you should be able to find a place local in your area. Just look them up on the internet. If selling you can put them in your paper or on craigslsit for free.

for the working printers you have
maybe you can sell it...
post it in ebay or the likes...
many people may want it or
some collectors for old stuffs
may want to buy it...
for the non-working gadgets
you can sell it to the junk shops
for they are only after for the plastics and irons
they can get out of your old broken gadgets!
get rid of your old/broken gadgets as soon as possible
for it can cause you problem
if you dispose them in a wrong way.

post it in ebay?
i don't think so! cause i have this really old printer and i'm really still not sure if it's still working so,better not to post it in sites. i am also dumb on things like that, maybe i should sell them near my place, for it is more convenient but i really have to check it if it is still functioning well. unfortunately i don't have plug ins on my computer to check if it is still functioning, and there's no ink as well. yes,i know i can sell some for junk shops and for sure it will be trouble if i dispose it the wrong way.
from where are you in the philippines,if i may ask?
