hi azrin,
here is a list of food which are known to help you maintain your weight. so i wud advise you to consume more of these below mentioned foods:
1.Blueberries: Not only are they a rich source of antioxidants but also reduce ageing and help in keeping off abdominal fat.
2.Asparagus: Being a natural diuretic, it helps to shed water weight. Asparagus also contains phytochemical glutathione, which has antioxidants and cancer preventing properties.
3. Apples: Rich in fibre, they keep you satisfied for longer, which is the key to maintaining a healthy weight.
4. Eggs: High in proteins, eggs are good for long lustrous hair. Being a good source of Vitamin B12, they help break down fat too.
5. Yoghurt: A rich source of good bacteria, it strengthens and stabilises the immune system. These probiotics can also work to improve the functioning of our GI tract.
6. Green tea: Aids digestion, detoxifies the body, making the skin glow. It also helps burn calories.
7. Salmon: It is a rich source of Omega 3 fatty acids that help burn fat and add glow to the skin. 8.Cinnamon: Reduces cholesterol levels in the body and regulates blood sugar, making it extremely beneficial for those with type 2 diabetes.
9.Almonds: High in alpha linoleic acid, they can speed up the metabolism of fat as they contain good fat. .
10.Soya bean: Contains choline which breaks down fatty deposits and blocks fat absorption.

If exercise is exhausting, I am wondering if you've gone into exercise slowly? Maybe walking or swimming for 30 minutes a day, 3 times a week. If you continue to exercise and still feel exhausted, I would say you may want to check with a doctor. At some point, you should start feeling better with more energy via exercise. I have found a site that is extremely motivational, free, and covers it all in terms of "diet" meaning nutrition, your BMI, and a cardio plus strength program that is easy to follow. You get immediate feedback including being able to enter all that you eat in a day and getting numbers for calorie count, fat, carbs, and protein. The site is sparkpeople.com It is proving to be extremely motivational for my teenage daughter who struggles with weight. For example, she needs to lose 27 pounds and the site has set up a timeline (end of Dec. to reach goal) and what she needs to do to reach her goal. I have to lose 10 pounds and have been given a target date of Sept. 23. You can change the target date, exercise and diet to work with your lifestyle and likes in terms of food and exercise. And the site is extremely user-friendly.

Very insightful respond, I must say. I agree with the gradual exercise regime, it is really effective. For me, not to eat supper would help greatly in my very own weigh losing campaign.
Cheers.

I have also heard that several small snacks a day is better than larger meals. It keeps your metabolism going full force which continually burns calories. I understand that if you don't eat for a number of hours, your body slows down its metabolism and you actually end up not losing. I always skip breakfast which I know is the one meal I should have. I know where you are coming from with skipping dinner though. It is easy to eat late and then not be very active and those calories just build up!

WEll, you won't lose weight if you won't stop eating. Food has a very big impact on your weight. You can't just eat and eat and expect to lose weight. If you really want to eat then maybe you should chose the food your eating, and not fatty foods, like food full of fiber.

Try to have a balance between them. I think it is important to speak with a doctor, specialist in diets...

I see there are a lot of responses to this question. And to be honest. I didn't read one of them. So I hope I'm not repeating what someone else has already said; but here are my two cents.
If there were a straight-forward answer to this. Obesity would not be a "problem." I put this in quotations because I know some may believe that some "choose" to be "obese/fat." Basically... what I am getting at is.. if everyone knew how to be skinny and thin... they would be. But it is different for each person.
It's a bit of combination between WHAT you eat and HOW MUCH you eat. Most doctors/nutritionists suggest eating A LOT! However.. this doesn't mean eating a McDonald's Double Quarter Pounder every 20 minutes. It means snacking on healthy foods such as Celery with dressing (or without for less calories).... carrots and dip (or without.. ") etc. You can eat little snacks like this during the day, and then enjoy a large heart-healthy meal for dinner. AND DO NOT EAT PAST 8 PM
Many may argue with the above paragraph as it sort of contradicts what I said earlier... but to make things easy for you just remember this:
Eat what you want, but just be aware that what you eat needs to equal or be less than, what you burn. Don't starve yourself, but don't skip exercising. A combination of healthy eating habits and exercise is the answer.

neither starve urself nor exhaust urself. eat lots of natural things like fresh fruits, juices, veggis, nuts, low fat milk products and then u never feel like starving urself. as far as exercise is concerned start with a time pass walk in a near by park n then u can more ahead according to ur capacity without exhausting ur self.

I would say you should try to eat a balanced diet of foods, but you could also look at the energy levels on the packets of food you buy. It may help to keep your energy up. Although most people are up and about most of the day, it is important to have abit of a rest/break to relax and then start again... otherwise you will only get tired alot easier and quicker.

Fasting is not good. Exercise is really exhausting. hehehe. Choose what you eat. Eat more of the healthy stuff. Go for chicken 'brst' fillet, low-fat milk, ground round (instead of ground beef), wheat bread, vegetables, fruits. Eat less of the unhealthy stuff. Avoid chips, soda (softdrinks), salty food, sweets, juice in sachet. Slowly decrease the amount of sugar you use in your coffee and you won't notice the difference in taste. Walk fast. Good luck!

Yeah, same like me. But commitment will change it. All you need to do is just eating good food and a little exercise. Slow but sure.

You do not have to starve yourself in order to lose weight. All you have to do is adopt a healthy lifestyle. Stop eating junk food and start eating more vegetables and fruits. Organic foods are the best food for you to eat. Educate yourself a little more on healthy living.

I have the same problem, I cant go half a day without eating.
The smart people says that if you go on a diet, and stop the diet, you get fat again.
Exercise works for me, but TIME TIME TIME.....
You get pills like Simply Slim, not sure where you from, but in RSA you get Simply Slim, it lets you lose weight very fast, and your stomach gets smaller after losing weight, so you wont eat that much anymore.
Not sure how true this can be.
