She's afraid of the bar of public opinion. She knows that she is one of the least popular president of all times - and that includes Marcos who imposed martial law. I caught one news report where she became impatient with the PNR director when he "failed" to highlight her accomplishments in his report. She really has one of the lousiest PR firms by the way. She needs to fire them.

Hello advocate,
well, it's because of the popular rating that made the people believed that she was the worse president after Marcos. i remember she almost walk out when the media talked about how the gibo campaign is failing to get the government's interest. well, it's too late to fire them since she is leaving the palace.
you know, it would have been honorable if she just admitted her mistake same thing during the Hello Garci scandal.that way at least people wouldn't brand her as a coward, least.

I think that is exactly the point.... they want to exit with dignity perhaps by showcasing the accomplishments of her administration. I think that is exactly the point that despite the controversy she has accomplished this and that projects in her term. I guess this would also make two kinds of remarks one is yours and the others is for those who benefited from the projects done.

Because of all the scandal the PGMA government went through we have only one thing in our minds...Her government is corrupt! TRUE! But still we have to admit that she made a legacy to live on maybe not now but in future perhaps. I think one day we will realize that in spite of all the controversies her government went through she still has time to do good for the country.
Anyway I still want her and her husband behind bars for making our country the worst in history of corruption!
God Bless us all!

well i think she wants people to at least change some opinions of her. Well she knows that she will be persecuted after she is out of the presidency.

Hello brylle454,
that's because the media is so biased in further reporting the bad news rather than the good news. and Gloria's not answering the allegations herself had gotten irk of the people getting more suspecious if GLoria was indeed guilty of the crimes committed.
but despite of that she was hard working and prevented the great down fall to bestowed us during the brink of financial crisis.and there was more jobs for call center then where it was really booming.
nonetheless, when ever the holiday is set on weekends, she would announce immediately monday to be a holiday. we have to consider the good things in the administration despite of her being TRANSACTIONAL Leader.

Yah, even my family always voted for Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, but the fact that she is kinda unapproachable by the media or doesnt answer directly about the issues and allegations just makes her image bad.

I guess it is one of her ways to end her term, blatantly showing us the list of what she did for us. This is her way of cleansing her image through the media (which is a powerful arm for influence) because she is facing huge cases filed against her. She might even get convicted in a few months time. She outgrew people's patience because of her (sometimes inhuman and) biased policies and end up being the most hated president in Philippine history. She might be the president but she is not the leader.

You have to admit, she did pretty decent projects. The commercials are more on a "softener". It's to keep others from gnawing at her all the time. To somehow mask the corruption she/her husband/her government did. The commercial per se isn't annoying. What annoys me is that she's using my hard earned money to make commercials, just to make her look better!
It's also annoying that I voted for someone like her, but come to think of it, we didn't have much of a choice that time.
