Spain losing to Switzerland today is a huge loss for the team. Watching the second half only I thought Switzerland could have gone up 2-0 with the unlucky crossbar flick. Spain was unlucky to have had a goal denied by the upright as well but at the end of the day the result is a loss for Spain.
I only saw the Spanish flare and passion and thirst for a goal right at the end of regulation time. I know there will be many more shockers with the results of the games to come and who knows, maybe even a first time winner here.

I think Del Bosque got his team selection wrong to start the match. I think starting with Busquets was a defensive move. Also, the fact that Torres could not start and when he came on Spain seemed to have a bit more edge could not help Spain. But even though his presence gave Spain a bit of a edge, Torres was clearly out of match practice as his first touch was very heavy.
Ah at last an upset at the World Cup.
Cheers!

One could argue the same about England's choice. Spain are by no means out of the competition and still have plenty of time to shine but like you said they need to pick their winning squad from the start. I think we will see a few more upsets, it just shows you how far the sport has come, gone are the days of whitewashes and dull games as everything is closer in score and skills.
Happy MyLotting and lets see what else is in store today.

The things is Spain is one of the favorites to win and even with all their stars they failed to impress. The Swiss had a solid defense and aggravated the Spanish. This just shows that a solid defense can win you the game, defend and counterattack when you get the chance, score and you win.
