Hello! I recommend that you write since writing can do much to hone your creative and grammar skills. I always recommend doing work that's also applicable to a job application when it comes to college students like me. Now I don't know where you live so this may help you or it may not. Amazon Mturk is a well known "job platform" where you can take tasks of your choosing and get paid for doing them. What's nice is that you can pick tasks that interest you and gives you legitimate experience. It runs on a similar line to freelancing but it's given by a seriously reputable company namely Amazon. I actually used my experience from doing contracted jobs on Mturk to land an internship for this summer.
