sony VAIO: why is it so expensive? is it worth the price?

im planning to buy a new laptop, so I did my research and found out that all VAIO are are expensive, why is it? its not that high-end but still so expensive compared to other laptos with the same specs. whats so special about it?

I used to work for Sony Electronics.
The VAIO is expensive because it says "SONY" on the box.
Really, that's it.
Buy a box with the same specs for less money.

they are expensive because they are pretty. and because it is SONY.
you pay higher price for the brand name.
nothing is special about sony in my opinion.
If i was buying laptop i would choose a different brand like dell, asus, msi
sony is just overrated and overpriced. IMHO

because its SONY..just like any other establish brand, you somewhat buy not just a laptop but a sony label as well..
but to fair, you can get what yours money's worth..because of a name well taken cared off by its reputation, you can be confident that you get what you paid for..
