genetic engineering is one of the great scientific advances that will lead humanity into new age. There are both positive side and negative side of genetic engineering. It can cure many human genetics disorder and illness. There are many ethical issues concern with genetic engineering research and development. Though I do believe there should be some limitation on what we do with genetic engineering.Science has done many experiments on animals.do yo think that testing genes on animal is right?

Hello Crazy Poster,
Although I am a Roman Catholic and believes in God. i believe that Genetic Engineering can be beneficial to the human race in terms of saving lives and possible providing a new cure for current incurable diseases.
but the negative part there is none other than genetic manipulation and changing other parts of the body, which is dangerous. such mutation can cause contamination, violent outbreak and assimilation dangerous to us humans.
that's why Christians are always against it not because things go horribly if science decides to do genetics on humans.

you are right genetic engineering is beneficial but it must have some limitation on it.......

I believe genetic engineering of humans could be very beneficial to the human race. But, I am worried about what some people may do with it. I think the idea of genetic engineering is amazing and could save many lives. But, there are some bad people in this world and they may use it for unethical reasons. I don't really like testing on animals, but at the same time, without scientific testing we wouldn't have the technological or medical advances that we have. There is really no good way to test medical ideas other than on animal or human test subjects.

I am not a supporter of all these experiments with genes and stuff, but I do think that in some cases the genetic engineering should be allowed. What I mean is that there are various illnesses that are caused by a bad gene. One single piece of DNA that has developed incorrectly can ruin the life of a person, causing rare diseases: different syndromes (starting with multiple difficult names) for example Down syndrome. So in these cases, genetic engineering should be allowed to repair the bad genes and give a person with such syndrome a chance to live normally. But all other cases, like experiments with genetically modified food or something, should be banned in my opinion. GMO are not good for health.

If you think this is God's work, then God has done a good job. Interfering with it could cause a serious problem, a calamity. I think we should rather devote our resources to fight hunger, malnutrition and diseases and raise the level of literacy around us.

yes i am agree. welfare of the living things they are doing like this. many genetic eng products , we are using every day.
it can increases the quality.
increases quantity.
more nutrient
used in many purpose.

No I think it is dangerous to fool with unknown science and ours and any other natural species.

I think that experimenting with genetic engineering is by itself dominating the laws of nature and that power, is not supposed to be held by human beings. I personally don't believe in god but I also think that humans should have a boundary when it comes to this kind of power.
With all that said, I do think genetic engineering is a very interesting field.

genetic engineering of humans are against human rights.. the alteration of a gene will affect many functions and only the nature can build a prefect human body.. alteration of genes against nature is not a good idea..and to be opposed.

I think we should leave things to Nature. Natural selection is the best way to improve things. Look at the shark for instance, it is such an efficient killing/hunting machine, and could not be improved in nearly any way,and nature did that. Well, maybe we could mount laser beams on the sharks heads, then they would surely be unstoppable.

yeah its a very fast improving field and the future has it !genetic engineering will one day rule this world...i mean if i where to genetic engineer myself i would add wings to me lol it would be so fun,or some spiderman thing rofl ahaa ...genetic engineering should be allowed on humans.humans should explore this science till the edge and bring humans with wing to life.what do you think??

I really don't think genetic testing on animals is right , I think there is another method we could use to figure out exactly how to perform genetic engineering the right way. I figure that if genetic engineering can cure human disordes and illnesses than I think we should truely know exactly how to perform them the right way since it could help so many humans. But as of now , I don't think that it's right that we test on animals.
