New York City- Best Holiday Destination??

I was having this discussion with some friends today... they didn't seem to think that New York was one of the top 5 places to visit in the world. I think it absolutely is! I visited a few years ago and it's incredible. The Arts, History, Theatre, Shopping, Bars, Restaurants, Sights, People, Music etc. rocks!
I just wanted to know what people thought?? and your favourite things about New York City??

havent been to NEW YORK..but it is certainly one of my dream destinations !! hopefully someday !!

New York City is the best place in the world, it has so many iconic places and buildings. It's just unbelievable. I only went for 3 nights so didn't get to see the all the sights but am definately going to go back again. Being top of the empire state building was possible my favourite thing about my visit, then again the weather was hot so eating ice cream on some rocks in central park was also quality, I also saw a musical on Broadway which was memorable aswell. I don't know I just loved every minute I was there.

Sounds like the time i had there! I was there for 2 months over the summer... was incredible! I really hope you can go back to enjoy the city for longer! :)
Who knows what you might find? I went to the top of the Rock' building and that was incredible too! Something haunting about the lights and the buildings there.

New York City is the best city to visit during the holidays. There is something magical about Christmas in NY. The crisp cold air, the holiday decorations, and everyone is a little more friendlier.

Well i am first time to new york city and i visited time squares and liberty statue..its so great!

I think it is a top city dextination for sure. I have never been myself but I really would like to have a long weekend there just to experience the hustle and bustle and the skyscrapers.
