I've cut back on my Dr.P intake due to the fact that I am pregnant. On some days when I don't have it at all I get this terriable headache and it will only go away if I have some caffine. Does this happen to everyone that cuts back or just pregnant women?

Are you addicted to Dr. Pepper as well!? I always get cravings for this stuff. I don't get headaches, but I do get irritable.

I'm completely addicted to caffeine in all forms! I get really restless without it. It's almost a bit sad to admit it, but i guess when the body gets used to having a stimulant like that, it can't deal without it. I used to drink like 5/6 strong coffees a day on top of tea and pepsi etc. When i tried to cut back i had this mad headaches! And they literally only stop when you drink something like coffee again. It's pretty scary... so i cut back slowly... only have 1 coffee a day now! Phew.

But, the thing is, I actually kind of get a really good feeling buzz going on from drinking a bunch of Dr. Pepper. One time I drank 10 cans in less than a 4 hour period. Is this normal, has anyone ever drank this many, or felt buzzed from them?

I used to drink Soda in general a LOT, but i thought i should start cutting back considering it's not a healthy idea to drink it all the time. Ever since i started cutting back, whenever i sit down and then stand up, my head starts to hurt and i feel dizzy. I guess it happens to a lot of people?

I get the caffeine withdrawal headache if I do not have some form of caffeine by noon most days. It is because your body is addicted to the caffeine. You will have the headaches at first, but if you keep not having caffeine I am told they do taper off after awhile. I don't know that for a fact though. I don't have the willpower to go that long without caffeine.

Yes, this is a pretty common phenomenon. But mostly people who deal with this issue face it because they stop drinking Coca Cola, and not Dr Pepper. But Dr Pepper, like Coca Cola, has tons of caffeine in it, which you are probably sort of addicted to. So when you stop drinking it, these things happen. But it goes away after a few weeks, when your body has gotten used to the change.

I've heard about this from Lots of people... I think it's a symptom of cutting back the caffeine, not so much about being pregnant i don't think (because it happens to men also). If your body is used to loads of caffeine throughout the day, and you suddenly cut back, you can get really annoying headaches and become irritated etc.
I would suggest talking to a healthcare specialist or your family doctor for advice. They might sugges replacements which have small amounts of caffeine in them such as Green Tea, or diluted and very weak tea/coffee. Just to ward off the headaches.
I'm sorry that you're getting these symptoms, and i hope you feel better soon.
Keep us posted on how you get along!
