What was the last concert you went to? It doesn't even have to be a professional one. Perhaps your child's spring music program in elementary school? I have been gone since Friday morning, and I got back home yesterday evening (I just know you missed me). On Friday night I went to see my sister and brother-in-law perform in a jazz concert their community "music scene" was putting on (they live 3 hours away from me). It was pretty cool. They both have amazing voices. My brother-in-law toured Europe many years ago professionally with a choir. Anyway, I didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did. But the dinner was good, as was the pre dinner show, and then the concert. It was nice to get dressed up and be around people other than from a doctor's office, church, or grocery store.
So as I was saying, concert stories to share anyone?

What an interesting family you have! I'm glad you were able to get away and enjoy it so much.
My last concert was too long ago, back in 2003, but it was awfully special. That's when I won front row tickets to the Rolling Stones Forty-Licks concert tour and backstage passes for a meet and greet.
I was supposed to meet them when they played at FedEx Field in D.C. but someone screwed up and the tickets didn't get there in time to meet the Stones. They made up for it by flying me to Oklahoma City, paying for a really nice room at a VERY nice hotel, more front row tickets (that made 4 tickets they gave me) and I finally got to meet the Stones. I was thrilled and even got a hug from Keith Richards and Ron Wood. Keith wanted my jacket, which I had hand-made with their mouth/tongue logo on the back in sequins. Of course, he didn't get it. I told his business manager to have him call me and we'd talk about it. Sadly, he never did call.
Maybe I should make this my last concert of any kind, since it was so special. Kind of like going out with a BANG, huh?

I'm glad I was able to see a bit of Oklahoma myself. I wish I had more time to see more of it, though. We were in one day, saw the concert that night, then had to leave the next morning for the flight home.
A VERY long time ago (I was in my middle teens), I had a boyfriend who got into some trouble and was put into juvenile detention for four years. He told me that, when he got out, he was going to call me and ask me one question. If my answer to that question was "yes", he was going to take me to Oklahoma and teach me to cook rattlesnakes.
I was very surprised that he did call four years later. He didn't ask me that question, though. I had another boyfriend at that time so I assume he went to Oklahoma by himself. I didn't need a "bad boy" in my life, anyway.
He and a friend of his had stolen a car and were out joyriding when they were caught. Nah, I didn't need that in my life. I'd like to know that he straightened up his act, though.

The last concert i went to was to a small uk band called Twenty Twenty, i am a big fan of theres and this was the 8th time i have seen them live :) i managed to secure the drummers drumstick and one of the guitarist pics, an eventful day.
I went to the kerrang tour in january and i saw a band called the blackout, a kind of scremo band. I for some idiotic reason wore these massive bulky shoes. Sean from the band asked everyone to neal down on the floor and when he said a certain thing all jump up, ofcourse because of the amoiunt of people, i couldnt get up again because of my shoes and fell flat on my face where i then got trampled on, not a fun experience, but because of this i later met sean from the band told him this and told him it was all his fault, he then gave me free VIP tickets to the next tour :D

I went to a blues festival in Jax Beach in April. There was a band called Toots Lorraine and the Traffic. They were so good that we followed them from the main stage to catch them do their second set. That was a great time. There's nothing like seeing a live band on the beach!

The last concert I went to wasn't all that long ago. I went to see ZZTop in March. It was a great concert although at the beginning it wasn't. In the beginning they played their new music which hadn't come out yet and so it wasn't great because no one knew the words or the songs so no one got into it. After about the first 5 songs they finally realized that no one was excited so they stopped playing their new music and played their old music.
Then it was great and everyone got into it and stood up and danced and cheered and sang and so on. It ended up being great. I never saw so many hippies in one place before though. I didn't know people were still acting like hippies. And I never saw so many ugly people in one place before. I never knew that there were so many ugly people living in Calgary.

Hello AmbiePam
I desperately want to go to a concert lately. I want to feel the astomsphere in a concert. Last time I went to the concert with my hubby was almost 7? or 8? years ago.
Maybe the end of this year, I will attend one.

Hm...I think it was earlier this year. I saw The Wallflowers. Most people know the band because Jakob Dylan is the lead singer and he's Bob Dylan's son. It was a pretty fun show. And just a few months before I saw The Wallflowers, I actually saw Bob Dylan himself performing live in a summer concert. So now I get to say that I've seen Bob Dylan live AND his son live haha.

The last concert I went to was the concert of David Archuleta and David Cook here in the Philippines. They were the recent winner of American Idol 2008 and people are just fresh from what was instore with them. Even their songs, we sing along to them because we knew some of their song. It was a great event, people were amazing , I mean the crowd because they short their support to David Cook and ARchuleta. We were far from the stage, but there is a large screen on the side, we saw how big their faces are . It was a great experience and I wish they come here.

Yes Ambie, I noticed you were gone and missed you..And that is cool that your sister and brother-in-law have this talent. I am sure you had fun..:)
The last one I went to I believe was Petra and it was really my husbands idea since he liked them better than I..I really would like to say Audio A. but they are not coming near me..
Anything my son's been in has not been a concert, but a play where he was a ring bearer in this wedding, but I don't think that counts, there was no singing..lol

It has been many years since I have been able to afford to go to a concert and the last one I went to was Simply Red many years ago. It was a very good show and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I would have loved to see Pink when she was in town but finances do not permit such luxuries these days!

It was a concert in my city itself and it was a local band playing their maybe third or fourth album's songs, I like their songs though and I also appreciate them for having a lot of courage and talent to show up in front of people.

Last time I went to a concert... I believe it was in March or April this year (of course not counting performances we made on Korean Day). It was a jazz band from Japan, Mouse on the Keys. I really enjoyed their life since their music hit my spot. I didn't know them before I went to a concert, it was my friend who was a fan of them and took me to see them and I'm really grateful to her for doing so. Thanks to her I had a chance to explore such great music.

the last concert i attended was 3 months ago. i participated with it for the benefit of a non governmental organization who will help outside the country. it lasted for more than 2 hours. I really enjoyed being with the choir. what i love most is the bonding moment afterwards. :)

I would say my most recent concert experiences were going to the Fair with adult disabled clients. We always take them to a country music night with big name stars during the state fair. I think I would enjoy the type you went to more.

That sounds like a really fun time. I am sure they both sounded great. The last concert I went to see was in the 1990's I went with a friend, my little sister and another friend to go see Alan Jackson in concert. I didn't think I would care for him since I really didn't listen to a lot of country but it turned out to be a pretty good concert and we were in the 4th or 5th row.

The last one was probably one of my kids.. I actually just skipped one last week. I was quite peeved about it actually. I found out THAT day that there was a concert that night at 7, and it counted as part of his grade... I mean come on! I'm sure I did get some note earlier in the school year, as if I'd remember from that long ago.. but really, not every parent can just run out at 7pm to bring their kids to some concert.. I don't think it's fair it should count as part of his grade. My 2 youngest need to be in bed by 7 or they're beyond miserable, and hubby works till 9pm, so what am I supposed to do on such short notice?
Okay, rant over...
Actually, back about a year and half ago I won tickets to a Maroon 5/ Counting Crows concert off the radio station, and that was totally awesome! That was the last real concert I went to.

The last concert I went to was actually a music festival so it was more concerts then just one concert. lol. Anyways my friends and I checked out a lot of electronica and techno bands at a festival called DEMF or Detroit Electronic Music Festival. Also known as Movement.
Some of the best bands that I saw while I was there was DJ A-Trak and Excision. DJ A-Trak was really impressive because he was incredibly talented at Turntables and did some incredible scratching. Other then that though techno can get repetitive some times and there were a lot of house style beats that I wasn't really all that into. I also missed Kenneth Thomas a trance artist, who was who I wanted to see most mainly. Oh well though.
