"Thank You" are wonderful words spoken by many people all over the world. Most people like to hear these words for they are pleasant and are positive words used to respond to an action, express gratitude and appreciation.
Although, these words can be said in a different way in various other languages but the meaning remains just as similar and wonderful responds from others' We may said it frequently and spontaneously to our friends, colleagues, bosses, superiors, or customers but many people would find it difficult to thank those who are close to them. For instance, family members, lovers or parents. We may think that there is no need to thank them as they are our own people. We deserved such services from them. But actually, they deserves to be thanked as they meant so much more to us.
I always said "Thank You" to my parents and everyone regardless of levels or degree of relationship to them. My parents really liked to hear them and felt the gratitude I had for them. Do you say these words even to your parents?

Yes, I was raised that way, and try to be polite whenever I can. Sometimes I forget I am sure, but most of the time I do. My parents would probably not be very upset if I did not, but I think they like having well-behaved and polite children, so why not?

Hi pucca girl: I think it's a nice habitude to say thanks to our parents. They are our providers but at the same time, they are the first persons that love us, so they deserve all these displays of affection and even more. Yes, why not? Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day.

Hi ketping, I like saying thank you to others to express my gratitude genuinely to them for helping me in every thing no matter how wee the thing one has done, like give way, open door, etc. I say this to everyone no matter they are people I'm familiar with, or I know or even stranger. I say thank you to my elderly, parents, boss, seniors and underling, even to people who are younger than me like my son and little kids as well
I believe one would feel happy if we appreciate their goodness done, by uttering the sweet and courteous words Thank You sincerely It doesn't the good deed they have done is important event or minor matter. I believe we would live a harmonious life if every one is willing to say thank you truly in the right time.
Happy posting

Thanks, Ikbooi. You are such a wonderful person,Ikbooi. Yes,it would make a difference in our life if everyone is courteous, thoughful and appreciative enough to say,"Thank You" to each other. Ikbooi, you are one out of a handful who understand what it means to be able to say these two words spontaneously and sincerely to anyone with no exception and most importantly to our parents.
You have given a very good comment and hope others will get this exceptionally important message of being appreciative. As it does make a difference in our life if we care to practice to say these two simple magically words. "THANK YOU".
Many thanks to you and have a good day.

I say thank you very frequently to others. It's the least that I can do to show my gratitude to whoever who had helped me, even though it's a very little of favour. Yes, I will say thank you to my parents if they had provided me some help. I don't see why I shouldn't express our gratitude to them. Even a stranger who had helped us will receive a sincere "thank you" from us.
There was once my friend over heard my conversation with my parents. They were surprised that I kept on thanking my parents for asking their help. One of them told me that he never say such word to his parents because he deserved their help. Well, I was surprised by his norm. May be he has other ways to express his gratitude to his parents.

You are most welcome and I am glad to receive your response on my comment as well. I
express my gratitude to the mylotters who gave their response to my comments as well.
Yes, it's sad to know that there are people who take other people's help for granted, including the help from their parents. They just never realized that it should be our turn to help our parents. Therefore, we should be even more thankful that we got help from our parents after we have grown up.
I have met people who never say thank you even though they were helped by others. I think they should learn to appreciate the help from others and be more courteous.
Happy posting and have a nice day!

Thank you for being so appreciative.
Although, it is sad that there are others who are not appreciative and do not expressed their gratitude, we can still make them learn to say, "Thank You". Some of our superiors didn't say thank you after the tasks but I utterred thank you to them instead and they soon learn to thank to me from that day onwards.
One of my colleagues said "Thank You" in such a loud, sweet and sexy tone that we would laughed. But I am proud to say that all of my colleagues never fail to thank each other although we are from different nationality.

It is very nice to receive your response.Thank you. It is really good of you to appreciate and express your gratitude to all who have helped youin one way or another and even to your parents. That's great.
However, it is very sad to hear that there are many people out there who took their parents for granted and can't even thank them for all the effort they have made to bring us up. It is actually unacceptable to have grown ups still expecting help from their parents when it is their turn to help our parents instead.
Saying "Thank You " to our parents is just one of the little ways of expressing our gratitude for they have worked so hard and suffered so much because of us. You are one of those who are intelligent enough to realise the power of gratitude.
Congratulations to you.

Of course I do, what is wrong if you said thanks anyway? as to what you have said, it is a way of expressing how you feel towards the person and how you appreciate what they have done ,so why should I not say thank you to my parents, even if I know that I cannot out pay them for what they have done to me.
I sometimes find it strange when people aren't that thankful for, not showing appreciation. Instead of saying "thank you" for giving them something like a gift or some token, they would say "why". You don't ask the giver, you say thank you as I always say to people if they tell me something about my action especially in giving.

Thank you, strawberrychocodahi. Yes, your parents are very lucky to have good filial daughter like you who are appreciative for all that they have done for you.
It may be strange that there are poeple who aren't expressive of their gratitude but they will learn and realise it sooner or later on seeing other people practising it. It may be difficult to give happiness to others when there aren't much stock of happiness in themselves.
Happy mylotting.

The words of thank you are ones that are so often taken for granted. We sometimes forget to say the words that could come so effortlessly,. Not hearing them is also hurtful to our egos. Whether it's a parent, a friend , or a stranger, thank yous are always important. i don't i don't say it often enough, especially to a parent.

Thank you so much for your response, sender621. I am glad that you do realised how these two words can make others feel so nice, appreciated and acknowleged. When you say these two words to yourself subconsciously often enough, you will fill your soul with so much gratitude that you can't wait to share it with others.
When you have caring attitude in you, all these words will come subconsciously and your "thank you" will be accompanied with your sincere smile. The person who receives your "thank you" will smile back to you and you will be happy as you have made someone else so happy too.Although, you may not receive any "thank you "or smile in return but you have done a service by sharing your appreciation.
Be more generous with your "Thank You" to everyone especially to your parents.
These are really magical words to bring happiness to others.

Saying thank you to our parents is an everyday opportunity!
we do that by our words of appreciation. we say thank you with utmost sincerity.
we also say thank you by the way we relate with them. we relate with them with respect, honor, obedience.
their role as parents are never easy, but we show appreciation to it as we submit to their benevolent care and authority over us.
we show appreciation to them even when they grow old and grey.
when they are no longer in the position to lavish us with all that we want because their bodies are already tired to work.
when they are no longer as active as they used to be.
when they are even forgetful.
May we never settle for less when it comes to showing appreciation to our parents, even so while they are still alive.
as wonderful eulogies may be, nothing compares to showing and expressing appreciation to parents when they are still able to hear them and be encouraged by them as a result.

I'm British... we say thank you even when the person is being RUDE! hehe.
I think i'm more relaxed with my family... we'd say "cheers mum" or "thanks bro"... but thank you is reserved for strangers and the work environment. Perhaps a time to say is it for someone's birthday... otherwise we stick to the less formal of the expression! :)
