I love The Simpsons. I've been watching it for years. Some people says that they are a bad influence for the society. But the reality is that they are a reflect of us. When you watch this kind of show, you can compare all the daily issues that involves the family, friends and jobs. With a sense of humor. When I was a kid, I saw it just because I liked. But the time I can analyze from other point of view.

I have this conversation quite a lot regarding the simpsons... and people say various things along a spectrum ranging from liberal to very anti-simpsons.
My answer is always the same "Dude, it's just a cartoon."
If people feel influenced negatively by it, but they don't have to watch it. If you don't want your children watching it, don't buy a tv or don't let them watch it when it's screened. This really isn't the only show which has been discussed in terms of censorship. Freedom of speech means that it's never going to be banned. People need to get over it.

The simpsons is a good series and I agree with you that the cartoon reflects the day to day issue in the US. I'm not a fan of The Simpsons but I do recognize the ingenuity and the humor of the cartoon. I like to watch the family guy better
