This time the World Cup offered us an amazing match, this is the match between Brazil and North Korea. North Korean team is not just a show in the World Cup. This is an exciting match. Although they lost at last, but I really appreciate their spirit. I hope they can go further I already look forward their match on next Monday

youless,
Like you, I am simply full of admiration and praising this team from North Korea. We really have to hand it to them for their gutsy performance against the world's best and top tournament favorite, Brazil.
Their fighting and "Never Say Die" spirit is both worth watching and admirable. I was expecting a slaughter with a scoreline of at least 6-0 in favor of Brazil. However, it was not to be so where not only was there no big scoreline but the North Koreans actually managed to score one against the former world champion. Not only was the match entertaining, it was educating too. And, I suspect the New Zealand team might have picked up a lesson when they played Slovakia to a draw.
From the way they play, I just have to say that they really deserve to be in this tournament and I am sure you are aware that their last appearance was actually back in 1966 where they nearly went into the last 4. In that world cup, North Korea really had a chance to enter the semi-finals. They were actually leading 3-0 after 25 minutes of the first half and I am sure that they could feel it too at that time.
However, I think the euphoria of a semi-finals was simply too overwhelming for them that somehow, the Portuguese managed to overcome such a deficit and come out victors knocking out the Koreans. Of course, that is also the year where a Portuguese wonder was introduced into the World Cup history - Eusebio who came from behind to score 4 goals against the Koreans in that match and turn the final scoreline to 5-3 in favor of Portugal. The first lesson on "Never Say Die" was being by Portugal and 44 years later the North Koreans retaught this lesson again!
I'd say if they could keep this attitude and performance up, I can assure you that they might even reach the last 4 which will be 1 stage better than their predecessor.
Writing about this here, just make me ever more eager to watch them play their next match which is due on June 21 against guess who?
You have it Portugal, the team that knockout their predecessor in 1966. Will it be a sweet revenge or not will be left much to be seen!

The North Korea coach said they would be the winner. Now I think it is not a boast. I hope they will give us another surprise. Compare to North Korea, our Chinese soccer team shall feel ashamed. They have the high paid but they just play the soccer worse and worse.

Hello youless,
If you have been watching videos about North Korea, it's a completely militarized country that owns by a communist dictator and everything there is expected high performance results. am not sure how their Dear Leader Kim Jong Il would react to North Korea's lost in this matter. the training there is no joke and less fun at least, seeing this defeat i fear the consequence that will bestowed upon them(North Korean team)by the great(scum) leader.

LetranKnight25,
Sports and politics don't mix.
You are really incredibly politically inclined and there is really nothing that can take you away from it (politics that is), is it?
C'mon this is a world sporting event and the last thing we want to know is who is going to win the next general elections more than the scorelines and match fixtures here.
Besides, what is wrong within the North Korean government isn't for us to say here nor have a prejudicial view over their citizens who are representing their country. So, what if their leader is a scum?
Somehow, I cannot help feel a heavy sense of prejudice and generalization on your part here. And I am just surprised and speechless.
What matters most is the players along with their people aren't!
So, crawl back to your political cave for another discussion on North Korean politics, I am sure there's an equal audience there.
This is FIFA World Cup where sports and politics don't mix.

Good match , i hope that korea can finish second , but its very difficult with portugal and marfil , so .. maybe or maybe not =P
But my favorite match right now is France vs Mexico , that was a very nice match , with goals and good defense of mexico , when france was trying to attack them.
Well lets hope tomorrow Germany can do a good match to vs serbia , and win with 4 and 0 again =)
have a nice day!!
