I am a teacher.Whenever I apply and start a new job,I always get praised by my boss and students at the first few months.I even get a higher salary than others. However, after a while,I slowly feel that teaching becomes a burden to my daily life.As a result,I am often absent, and end up making excuses just so i can escape from my responsibility.

Hi,
There must be something that you've found more pleasing than your profession. There was a time when you used to enjoy what you were doing. Then something happened, that thrashed your expectation really hard. You should identify that particular incident. That single incident entirely changed your perspective towards your profession. It was quite unexpected. May be some person behaved indifferently and that discouraged you. May be someone whom you respected very much showed something unacceptable. Its all about your expectations. When you start achieving something you wish for more, and then you enjoy achieving it more than you enjoy working for it. Your focus starts drifting away from your work. In such a situation, if you fail to achieve something or if your expectation gets hurt, you totally loose your motivation. You should carry out some search and destroy operation on this. Identify the cause, analyze it and then get over it. Take your time, but be steady and determined. Thanks
God bless you

It is perfectly normal, for any teacher to get frustrated that way. But one has to always remember that the student and their teacher are not of same mental maturity. In order to be a successful teacher, one must know perfectly well, how to lower oneself to the level of one's students. In order to teach a child, you have to be a child yourself. We cling to our ego and expect our students to come and reach to it. But that is never gonna happen. Be flexible, the rule is so simple, think like a child, act as if you are a child and be a child yourself. Only then you will be able to influence a child. You will be popular among them. Just try to be more friend than a teacher to them.
I am glad that you liked my response.
Thanks

I think you really hit it.Thinking about what you said,i remember his usually happens whenever a student failed to understood the lesson.I get so frustrated and depressed whenever this happens.I am always inspired whenever they understood the lesson and when they thank me for the things i imparted to them.but I find it difficult to accept, when it's the other way.Is teaching the right profession for me?

hi koji, in my opinion, there are things that we really enjoy doing in life, and in certain level, we will start losing the interest and we don't feel like doing it anymore. do you tend to keep working and working and working without doing any leisure? it's probably good to have a chat with other teachers that you think you can trust, since they are doing the same thing as you do. it is possible that probably one of them is actually maybe struggling like you...then there, you can share a thought, who knows if it will helps you find the reason yourself. it is amazing how you are likeable to your boss and your students though. my elder brother is also a teacher, and he is always struggling with a naughty students. he said some of them won't even listen when he's teaching :-(

hi again koji, you are such a good child. i hope someday, all the good things you do for family and others will all come back to you. it surely will comes back, that's how karma works. it sounds like you are working hard not because you love that job, but because of your responsibilities for your family. be strong, and always be positive. there is always a way to enjoy life whether it costs us money or simply not. talking to other people about how you feel sometimes as well may result you a great change. who knows? anything can happen. taking time, space, and relaxing is very important too. at the end of the day, we can't work 24 hours. so those few hours that we spend at home, try to relax yourself, go outside for a fresh air, watch sunset with family (i love doing that) or simply just spend the time to have a chat with your family, make a jokes, have a good laugh you know. because another day will comes, and there you have to work hard again. so if you had been worried and sad all day yesterday, then seemed like you just missed a few hours to enjoy life..so don't miss it! smile always :-)

Maybe you are suffering from anxiety disorders. Don't worry, you are not alone. The best thing is to get a check-up from a certified doctor, and he will be able to tell you with the correct diagnosis. I have also been a teacher before, and at first it was all glorious. I was energetic and happy. After a while I got anxious, no mood to teach and even afraid to be present at school.
You can get help. Good luck!

koji, you need to eradicate ennui from your system. Only you can do that. Try to relax every now and then. All work and no play make Jack a dull boy.

Hello. Are you pursuing any other work also apart from teaching. Otherwise what daily life gets disturbed by work. And what you do when you are absent from work. is it important to do what you are doing? You have to ask these questions to yourself. What is your aim, what do you want in your life? Do you like teaching at all or is it just that teaching jobs are easier to find?
You have to find answers to these and examine yourself, your thoughts, your beliefs, your map, your values everything.
There is one good book I recommend you to read "I am OK, you are OK". You may find some insight. GBU.

This is because you are going through the same routine for quiet a sometime. Some people don't like to be in the same routine and you are one of that kind. I think you need some break. Try something different, the best will be to do a morning exercise. Please remember, everyone has to do some work, and your work is one of the best.

Maybe you just have a short wick to your burn out place! It sounds like you really like teaching and you do well at it. One thing I used to do to help keep me from burning out was to set personal days. As soon as I got the yearly calendar I scheduled a personal day for the first Monday in October. Then I scheduled one the end of February or the first of March. Sometimes it helped me get to those dates just knowing I was going to take a "me" day!
