So i was thinking of purchasing a new laptop or more probably a notebook. I am using an IBM Thinkpad (R40)but I am having a hard time bringing it everywhere I go. It is heavy and kinda bulky. Although I love my laptop, I would need to let it go and opt for something more light but does have good specifications like 128vcard, 2bg processor, 1-2g RAM.

I am not hardware savvy but a friend strongly recommends Lenovo still. And it's also my personal preference. I am also in search of a laptop now and I've seen some but I just can't get myself to buying it because I still want a Lenovo :). Our office laptop is also a Lenovo and I didn't have any problems with it.

I am currently using a Macbook. It is an intel Mac, so I can run both the Mac OSX operating system and Windows OS. I am currently running Mac OSX Leopard and Windows XP. You also have the option of running these operating systems separately on a partitioned hard drive or you can run Windows inside the Mac OS. Depending on what you are using the computer for and how familiar you are with operating systems the Macbooks can be very efficient, but are more expensive than the more common Windows machines. Most of my friends have Dell computers and I actually have a Dell desktop that I like very well. They seem to be very popular, but I also like the ACER brand computers. If you are looking into a gaming computer, then you want to make sure the laptop has a good graphics card, because most of the laptop graphics cards are integrated and unchangeable. Netbooks are very small and fairly cheap for mainly travel and internet. They have no CD/disk drives of any type. However, they do have USB ports where external drives could be plugged in.

I am told by a friend that smaller notebooks are convenient but may have low specs.
