I remember in the past when I watched the World Cup, it said that two teams could not have the similar clothes because it would be inconvenient for the people who didn't have a color TV set at home. Today I wonder whether the black and white TV set still available.

I have not encountered anybody who still uses it nowadays but I can remember the one we had. It was very big and need one cabinet to hold it. It had a folding door which we need to open everytime we use it. Thinking back it seems very funny to me.

hi youless that is a good question. I suppose maybe used ones in black and whit may be available but I doubt if there would be many takers.
Now most everything is available in colored tv and why not we
have the technical know how now so we use it to the best of its
advantage.

My father still keeps black and white TV and the TV was still working properly. It was amazing for me, because my color TV can not survive longer than black and white TV's my dad

Haha ,I can still think of the old times with black and white tv.I was born in a small country and my family was the first bought the tv in my street ,so my neighbors often came to my home and watched together .But after some years ,most families were able to buy it and then the color tv came out ,so they never gether in my home but I miss those days .
Back to your topic,I really dont know if that old tv is abailable or not ,hope the answer is yes.

Though I haven't seen it in quite a while...I think it's still available in rural India. Places where not many people can afford the television and there might be just one television in one area and many families gather together to watch a show. I think in areas like these a black and white television is still available.

Hello youless. I think that it is not that easy to find such a TV set any more because everywhere we go, we see color TV sets. They are probably no longer produced in TV factories, but color ones. Take care.

youless,
I believe there are B&W television sets available but I do not think they are being used for watching television programs. They are currently used by security firms for close circuit television networks.
Back in those days, it is not really difficult to spot the different teams playing because though their outfits do not appear in color but they appeared in different shades. Including their socks, so it is still possible to watch the tournament and differentiate the teams playing with a B^W television set.
Have a nice day.

Gee, that seems like a load. The colors (RED and GREEN) do not look anything alike, how about (YELLOW and PURPLE), or these (BLUE and ORANGE). These color groups look nothing alike, if fact one seems dark and the other seems bright. They can play with these colors???
Fact: these color groups (the ones in these) look exactly the same and you can't tell the difference on a gray scale.
Like I said, seems like a load of something...

Yeah, my house used to have one of this black & white tv, it is that kind 4 legged TV just like a box. And it is still working since we have use it for like 15 years. I think the old TV can last longer than the new TV...:) To watch World Cup in black & white TV is confusing because you will hardly see who is the one that score....

I belive this is the manufacturer tacktic so that they can sell more TV instead of selling a long lasting TV. This will definitely increase their sales and profit. This is also the same for the fluoroscent lamp that we use at home which actually can last as long as 10 year but the manufacturer have put in less gases so that the life span of lamp can only last for a one or 2 years. This is how nowadays people gain profit without thinking of the business ethique..

You could possibly find one in an antique store or some place like that. I do not think there is enough of a market to support the item. I could be wrong, however, and some MyLot person may know stuff I do not know.

Hi,
I wish I will have the chance to see
some programme from black and white TV. That was past and
I don' t have the chance to enjoy it.
When I was born and till I knew how to enjoy
watching TV, my house TV is color TV.
However, I don't think it is comfortable
to watch tv programme with black&white TV,because, the
colour of the picture is only black and white, not interesting
at all.

In India there are many people are using black and white TVs only. The advanced technology is not spread to remote places like villages...
Live example is my uncle is still likes to watch 9pm news in black and white TV only...
