When I purchased my new laptop, my year subscription to Norton Antivirus was lapsing. So I opted to try a 30 day trial of an updated Norton. Well can I just tell you how happy I am! IM ECSTATIC! I tried the Norton 360 and I was intending on buying it when it lapsed. Then im contacted by a site I am a member Viewpoints. They gave me a year subscription for FREE! Even better right? As I got to working with this new software, I am becoming more and more impressed. It scans constantly for viruses. Removes them without asking me. What I like is that it will do all this even when Im not on the computer. Yes other softwares do the same sort of thing. With Norton 360 It adds all my information like autofill would. It does all this with out step by step prompts. Its like another person is constantly with you. My favorite thing is that it logs and remembers any/all passwords and usernames. When you go on that site a box appears. Click on it and your there. I am completely amazed at all the things this software does for my convenience not just security. If you're in the market, try NORTON 360. You wont be sorry. Happy MyLotting to all my peeps. dl

You just found it! Great! I have been using it for two years now. It is a great antivirus. Did they tell you about the spy Sweeper too? they advised me to get it too. You can have it sweep every day or every few days, how ever much you want. I have a cleaner that takes off the temp files daily too. It sure speeds up your computer. It is a great piece of software isn't it?

I agree. I had a bad virus and Norton was the only thing that got rid of it. DO you use the cleaner and the sweeper as well?

Is it true Norton is also from Symantec? I am currently using Symantec Endpoint Protection. It's good in plucking out viruses hiding in Temp Folder of my Local Setting, but not good in enough in hunting viruses that are hiding in System Volume Information Folder (ESET NOD32 is good in it). What about your Norton? What's its strength that you can be proud of? How much is the cost of subscription after the 30-day free trial?

Hey there Magtibaygom. Boy typing that name without looking was quite a feat I would say. Ive heard that Symantec has many different types of security and they are all good. Im not sure what or where to look for the strength of my Norton 360. I also dont have an exact price as I got a free years subscription from Viewpoints. They chose a few members to try it and I got a year of Norton 360 free. I just love it. I cant say enough about it. Happy MyLotting dl

ive been using norton for 12 years and went over to 360 when they came out with it and i think its the best out there, the others let low and mid grade virus' get in and fill up your disc . when i bought this new laptop it came with an anti virus and i thought oh well i'll give it a try, wrong move ! my disc was filled with garbage in a month, so back to 360 i went, when u have something that works well dont shake the tree.

Hey Max Im no computer genius. In fact, Im learning as I go. Its been two years since I got my first computer and Im getting there. I know enough to trouble shoot. I dont want to sound silly but Norton 360 is just what I need. It does everything that I need help with. lol I have this friend who is very good when it comes to computers. I used to listen to every word that came out of his mouth as if it were gospel. He told me to go online and get AVG security for free. I did as he instructed. OMG! Now mind you before I got any security I went almost 11 months with NO security. When I first got the desktop I thought that was what Windows Vista was for. I know I feel so stupid now. However, we didnt have one problem. The minute I took his advice all He** broke lose! Viruses and all. That's when I went to Norton. Im happy to pay the $40 or so a year. Now I found Norton 360 and for someone like me its the right choice. Im glad Im not alone though.lol Now that Ive heard this from you, I feel even better! Thanks Happy MyLotting dl

Hi dloveli I'm also a satisfied user of Norton software. I'm using Norton Antivirus 2010 but not the 360. I must say it is a very effective antivirus because it can detect and clean trojans that were accidentally downloaded. It keeps a log of everything. Besides it does not interfere with other programs. I could use it in conjunction with Microsoft Security Essentials. They complement each other. It's only sometimes when Norton could not immediately remove the virus that I need to boot into safe mode and run Norton again. The best thing is it works very well and effective, too much I could ask for.

Hey Naka! I have always been happy with Norton products. When I had my mini laptop, I purchased Norton. I loved it. When I was asked to try this I wasnt expecting to notice much of a different from the regular version. Then when I was installing it into the computer fully it was then that It began asking me information and I realized that it had so much more than the original. I am so happy with it. I have received responses from others that were unhappy with Norton. I guess it depends on what you're doing on the computer. Thanks Happy MyLotting dl

I too use Norton 360 and I can not say enough good things about it! At first I was aprehensive to try it, as I had trouble in the past with Norton's products. But, boy am I glad I did try it. I'm happily hooked and won't use any other antivirus software. It's antivirus and sooooo much more. It does it's job, doesn't slow your computer down, remembers passwords and auto fills addresses and other information if you want it too. Which saves me lots of time. As dloveli stated... try it, you won't be sorry.

OOH Im sorry to hear that. You know I think it depends on the individual and what they are doing on their computer. I tried the AVG antivirus. Alot of my friends love it. It just didnt work for us. I will make a note of the one you recommended. You never know what could happen. Thanks Sy

Hi dloveli..I'm glad you are happy with Norton 360, just be careful. I have just un-installed it and am trying to get some money back from them. I didn't get a free deal like you. In anycase, since June 1, I have been hacked twice and have a virus right now that has shut down about half of my computer. I'm taking it to a "geek" on Saturday do see if he can't get it out. Although all the password saving options etc. seem great. I feel that it is one of the very reasons the hacker got into my personal business. I have been in a complete mess for 2 weeks. Even MyLot is effected. You wouldn't believe what I have to go through to gain access to this site now. Everytime MyLot would put my account back, they would delete it again. Its been a nightmare. I, personally hate Norton and will never use it again. I posted about the problem on MyLot and found that many people had the same complaints with them as me..Hope you are luckier than I was, just be careful...J

I had Norton with my first computer and I miss it. I got McaFee or something like that and I hate it. I got Mcafee for free with AOL and when I had a computer problem I went and bought an advanced version. It wasn't any better and when the year was up they wanted me to buy McAfee again. I tried to switch back to the free version and have been having problems ever since. I even think McAfee put something on my computer so I'd have a hard time with any other Antivirus. Things are okay now with the free Microsoft Security, but I miss Norton. When I can, I'll get Norton 360.

Hi Dloveli!. I am glad that anti virus work for you so good. I want to ask you, is it making your system more slowly or not, because I want anti virus thats light on my system. That will be great if you can used it for free a year, is that mean you had to pay it annually?.

ya of course norton 360 is nice but i think KASPERSKY internet security is better .........if u'll check rating of antivirus ESET NOD 32 and KASPERSKY are top 3 of them.....i have been using KASPERSKY INTERNET SECURITY from last 1 year and its very impressive..i havent formatted my compputer from last 1 year coz kaspersky block every virus from entering to my pc i have been facing a lot of network attacks daily i gets min 2 network attacks but KASPERSKY blocks the attack and blocks that computer also .....so kaspersky is nice and i've heard a lot about norton 360 also try kaspersky the 3 user pack key is very cheap..........happy mylotting
