Haemoglobin is an animal product which is involved in carrying oxygen round the body, so it isn't found in vegetables, however it is manufactured in the body from the mineral, iron, so any food which has a high iron content is likely to be beneficial. Iron is absorbed from your food and drink by your bowel. It's carried in your blood to your bone marrow, where blood cells are produced. Here, the iron is combined with proteins to make haemoglobin. Spare iron can be stored in your liver. On average, men need 8.7mg of iron a day and women need 14.8mg a day. You can usually get all the iron you need from your diet. A healthy diet including meat contains enough iron for most adults. Red meat is the richest source of iron and the iron is easily absorbed by your body. If you follow a vegetarian or vegan diet, you may not be able to get enough iron. This is because, although you can get iron from foods such as pulses, green leafy vegetables and nuts, the iron in these foods isn't absorbed so easily. If your haemoglobin level is low, you need to know why. Just choosing a diet with a good iron content may not be sufficient if, for some reason, your body isn't absorbing enough iron, isn't manufacturing enough haemoglobin or is losing it faster than normal.

Here is a table of foods which are particularly rich in iron. As you can see, many of the best sources are animal. Some herbs and spices are very good sources but, as one only consumes small amounts of these, they are probably less useful than they look. Grains, pulses and nuts form the majority of the rest of the list, though blackcurrants and apricots contain useful amounts. Dried apricots (which aren't mentioned here) contain more iron per 100g than fresh ones because less of the weight is water. http://www.weightlossforall.com/iron-rich-food.htm

Try watermelon. It's known as the iron fruit. basically, iron-rich fruits are the ones which increase hemoglobin level. Hope you get better. good luck! :D

Watermelon is rich in Vitamins A and C and free radicals. It is quite a good source of magnesium and potassium but it does NOT contain significantly higher amounts of iron than any other fruit. While it is undoubtedly good to eat watermelon, whatever reputation it has for being 'iron-rich' is totally unjustified. One cup of watermelon contains about 0.4mg of iron, about 2% of RDA. http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts/fruits-and-fruit-juices/2072/2
