Nasty two words.
How many times do we use them everyday?
What if, i am wrong?
What if, he/she doesn't love me?
What if, i am not that nice.
What if till damn dooms day.
How many times do you say what if, every day.
Isn't it annoying to have and use those words?
They just seem to make you miserable and irritate the hell out of you.
Let's try and not use that freaking WHAT IF, okay.
TATA.

if it concerns things about me...i hate using those words. it makes me doubt myself... and a positive thinker shouldn't doubt oneself. a positive thinker should just soldier forward toward their objective regardless of how many 'what if's' pop into their minds..

well, the reason why our eyes are at the front of our face is so that we can see clearly when moving forward. what if's can only halt our progress...
it's good to remember history, but if i wanted to speculate about what if's...i would have taken a degree course and studied to be a historian.
Mario doesn't want to look back no more. to heck with my mistakes of the past. i've experienced and i have learned. now it's time for me forge my future and to make some new mistakes..

Hi,
I completely agree. These two words only prove the inherent dilemma of a person. If we live every moment anticipating what is gonna happen next, then thats not a living at all. We should leave something in the hands of God. To be quite frank, we don't have any power to control the consequences as they depend on thousands of factors. What we can do is that we can affect the cause. That is, instead of planning and anticipating about our future we can stand afoot in our present. This way we can make our present beautiful and productive.
Thanks
God bless you

Hey Saphy! Again, I'm way to late to partake in all the fun
stuff! All the good bantering went on hours ago so would make
no sense now! I hate the "what ifs" too! And I'm starting to
think maybe I should leave here for awhile myself! I don't seem
to be here when the good stuff is going on anyway. I guess I
just live in the wrong part of the world. It is starting to get
me really down. You, Meluan, Vanny, Mario, Sunny and the rest
are always there and no one comes to get me on the total other
side of the globe. I don't have anything left to say all these
hours later~

I think that there are definitely advantages to using these words as it allows us to question things and follow a line of thinking to its (hopefully) logical conclusion. I also feel that there are times when this kind of thinking is detrimental to our health and mental well-being, especially when we are questioning actions in our past that we cannot change. There is a time and place for these words, but you have to know when and when not to use them.

before,i was like that. i always have a thought of "what if's" but as you said it could just make our lives more miserable rather than facing the truth out of us.
you can't change the past, all you have to do is deal with the present so you can have better future. you can't live with regressions. it makes you sick and you can't get a life you always wanted. you have to accept life's natural unfairness, move on and cheer up. there's always better things that are waiting for us out there,i know it and i keep on believing on it,no matter how hard our lives can be,i know we will all face a brighter future.just keep believing!

seriously lots of time..sometimes it is just 'what??'...my dad loved saying that thing to annoy my mum especially when he is online..my mum will provoke her with stuff and all he said was 'what?' in a super annoying way.....yup what does suits us,human..i mean what indicates our quest about something but it also says differen meaning...and ya know WHAT IF it's like we are not sure of things that going to happen or will be...or maybe we want things to turn our way..'what if it rains today and i can chilling out inside?'..ya see..but truly what is one of the most words i used each day..

What if are two beautiful words... they represent potential. Every brilliant discovery ever made began with those words... what if .. what if I try this.. will that happen.. wow.. it did, I invented a light bulb. Every piece of art starts with those words.. what if.. what if I put this color there and use this brush.. wow.. yeah, it worked.. that's great.
I think it is sad that you view a symbol of potential.. ""what if as leading to negative conclusions. YOu do not need to hate the what if.. just fix what comes next. Instead of asking "what if I fail".. ask.. what if I succeed.. and then let your mind see all the wonderful paths that are open to you.

I have discovered that what ifs never happen. I ignore them. I do see people all around me what if-ing. Got to talk with those folks before they go off the deep end. People can come up with the craziest what ifs that could never come true. Don't let them stop you from doing what you want.

ya, you are right. They mean that we are doubting. It means we are either doubting ourselves our on others. It is sad that many people doubt themselves and others. The negativity is always there. What and If are the two words that stop a person from achieving their dreams. Self doubting can never help. Hence dreamers should never think of these words ever.

hmmm..interesting point of view, that two words make us unhappy for a while, wishing things that we don't have or didn't happen, it's a good idea to stop using that two words and be happier with what we have =)
