I made this discussion not because I want to sell my soul but I'm just curious if people actually believe in this. I find really stupid because I dont think its possible to do that. I have heard rumors about actors and actresses and even singers who sold their souls just because they wanted to be famous. Do you believe in this? Do you think its possible? If you could sell your soul, what would you sell it for?

Yeah, recently I just found a website where it tackles the music industry and the evils behind it, it talks about selling their soul for the fame and fortune. I'm not really sure where I stand in the issue, I still cannot grasp the idea that you could really sell your soul to the devil itself, though with all the stories, I admit, I am really curious and I am really asking if it could be just true.
If given the chance, I don't think I would want to sell my soul, I mean, it's the only thing that I know I would always have and only God can take it away so no, definitely I won't sell it.

Yeah, the more I read about it the more curious I get, so I guess their tactic is working. LOL.
It's such a weird thing, I wonder if it's really true. I mean, as they say fact is stranger than fiction.

Well, that's the reason why I also came up with this discussion because a lot of people says more people are doing this especially if they are in the music industry. I dont know if its possible or they are just making it up just for people to notice them but its really curious.

Yes, you can actually do that. Just not as literally as some people might think. People do that everyday and you see it everyday. Like you said, in actors and actresses and singers. But don't let this mislead you, it is not only the powerful and famous that are doing this. Regular people do this everyday, they sell their souls working jobs they hate and kiss as much butts as they can for a couple hundred bucks extra on their monthly paycheck or an upgrade of their title.
It really does happen everyday and every minute, and it really saddens me. It happens everyday but nowadays we just call it as it is which is not literally selling your soul, but maybe selling your dignity, your self worth, or even just your time, for something you really don't want or need anyway. I hate to say it but I probably would sell a little bit of my soul too given the circumstances are correct. I mean, the system just doesn't leave much for us choice-wise. Since we are in a money currency world, we have to deal with a lot just to get that money and sadly sometimes some people just have to suck it up and deal with it. Which is exactly what I would do too if given the same situation. We should not be too quick to judge for we have not walked in one anothers' shoes, all we can do is try our best to steer clear of it. Very interesting topic, p3ks626! ++!

I think selling your soul is moastly a metaphor. In the same fason as when people say they have a broken heart. Their heart isnt realy broken.
As far as physicaly selling your, i don't think its possible. It seems just to be something you say when you desperatly want something.
To answer your other question, if i could actually sell my soul,
i think i would have to sell it for another soul.

First of all, don't ask an opinion based question, answer it, and then call anyone who doesn't agree stupid.
No you can't literally sell your soul. Its not tangible, its not in form of a service, its not even specific as to what a soul is. To different people it means different things.
As for famous people selling their souls, its a metaphor. No one actually means that they met up with the devil and made a nice little transaction and now he owns their soul.
They (some of them, not all) sold out in all sorts of different ways.

I think all questions are answerable based on the person's opinion. Whether we agree with their answers or not we cant do anything about it because that's their idea and we cant say its wrong.
Anyway, its clear now that you cant actually sell your soul literally. That would be stupid. lol

Hi p3ks626.
I think when a person gives up everything they believe in and leaves their morals and values by the wayside in pursuit of material gain, then they are in effect selling their soul. A thing I could never do.
As for the supernatural idea of selling your soul to the devil... I don't have any religous beliefs so that seems a ludicrous albeit rather entertaining idea!
The only time I would be tempted in either sense of the wor, to sell my soul, would be if my childrens lives depended upon it.

it is really very very funny. you blocked me from offering a rate .. to buy your soul, by your first sentence introducing the topic itself. ;) --- just teasing.
-------------------
YES. it is very easy to be at a loss of one's soul. metaphorically first: ... if you are doing something which you are not interested to do, but doing only because of the domestic or other pressures -- it is like selling the soul. Which I would never do. --- you put that right, when you said about actresses and others, who sell themselves, body & soul--- just for some material gain! alas!
--------- I would never put my soul for sale! or rent! ...
but, if your query is something related to the para-normal ... ask again, and I shall answer!

Oh! I see! I think selling your soul isnt about selling it literally with price and someone has to own it. lol
About the actresses and others, I was actually thinking they sold their souls and something like that because there are so many people who said or so or maybe they are just rumors. But its a stupid rumor. lol

It is hard for me to sell my soul and actually I have never sold my soul before. But I don't know what will happen to me in the future because this june i will graduate from the university and step into the society. Just as most people say, society is not what that you dream of and not like the life in school. But what i can be sure is that if something really forces me to sell my soul it will be a great challenge to me. Fortunately, up to now i have't face this kind of challenge of selling my heart.

If one day you will be in that situation, I thin kits better to decide now not to do it so you wont have this confusion whether you are going to sell your soul or not. I dont exactly know if there's something like this that actually happen in the world where we are living now. I mean, it cant happen.

do you mean, "soul" or "body"? These are two different things. Among artists, sell body may be a shortcut to gain popularity and this has become common knowledge. If you mean "selling the soul", ........... I am somewhat confused to give my response

I don't believe that you could ever really sell your soul. Your soul is not yours to own. Your soul belongs to God above. Only he can be in charge of your soul.

i've tryed to seel my soul but the devil didn't answered my call! i think that is too busy now, and he can get free souls nowadays so it will be stupid to buy something when you can get it for free. try to sell it to god, i think that he will need more souls than any other.

lol That is just a figure of speech. You have sold your soul to the devil, that means you have drifted away from the path of righteousness. If someone sold his soul in order to be famous, that means that he had done many amoral deeds in order to be famous. When you do unacceptable things in order to achieve some material thing, you sell your soul. They were not seriously sold. lol

selling soul can mean many connotations. We can't actually sell our soul. What is being sold, i.e. if someone wants to be famous, is his or her moral values...for example, a young girl (I mean, she is above 18 years old)sells her virginity to a wealthy partner out of elation for (becoming a celebrity or being the winner of a prestigeous contest, etc.)Very commonly people trade their soul for wealth, fame and faith (by changing religious affiliation). Imagine there is no heaven or religion, or the human laws (as in John Lennon's song "Imagine" suggests), I believe that people in this world are free to choose their life destiny-- preferences (predilections), styles, faith or concepts (for earning money), general self-comfort or good self-reputation once they attained the age of 18. Trading or selling soul is a kind of individual's freedom. It is an abstract phenomenon to discuss.

Why not. It's not tangible. Give me enough money and I'll let you have it after I'm gone. If there is a soul, it can't be sold to a human for money and if there isn't one, I'll take your fool money for nothing. I win either way.

No. I don't believe in that, my friend. As far as I know people just saying "you even sell your soul to be famous or being rich". This particular phrase does not mean literally. To sell soul. Means to sell their body...to those particular person that handle them...
Like ordinary people. They sell their body to make money. That is tantamount to sell soul because they commit sin with their love one...husband or wife.

Hi p3ks
I was curious about your discussion, so I made my research on this. And guess what I found some things that could lighten up some of those who really want to sell their souls.
http://www.dpjs.co.uk/sell.html
I found that site. I bet the author of this is not really into Church of Satan. They actually have a Satanic Bible. They say that they dont believe that satan is an existent being. etc etc etc.

Yes, it is possible. No I don't want to sell my soul, soul is a very important part of your being. GOD made it and only HE can have it. I would rather give it to GOD instead of selling it the corrupted one or the fallen one. =) GOD BLESS YOU my friend in davao...
