Even a child is known by his actions; by whether his conduct is pure and right..... I am reading a parenting book by John Rosemond and he uses this verse in one of his chapters.. I must say that I agree with him about everything. He believe that this verse pretains to a child or persons character, as I do as well.. I believe character is far more important than education.. What do ya'll feel about this and about this verse

A good seed planted in the right kind of soil only will bring forth good fruit.
Character is an inherent complex of attributes that determines a person’s moral and ethical actions. It might exist in the child as an essential constituent but it would become apparent only through right kind of education.
The child would get an opportunity to put his conduct to use only if is imparted knowledge (experience of others). Only after that, he will be able to apply his knowledge for gaining experience of his own by applying that knowledge. Then only he would reveal his conduct in his actions and his deeds.

I do agree with you when you say character is more important thaan education. If you are educated but without character it's only a matter of time before you begin to fall and all your success or education means nothing. But with character, you find favour with people and in so doing you are elevated in life.

hi lillybelledaisyrose Yes I do agree that character is important always but character that is well educated is even better. so I do disagree in a way that education is not important, for character and education go hand in hand and you can not be well educated if you have a poor character and you can improve your character all the time if you are educated too.
I just do not think its a one thing or the other, but both. Poorly educated or plain uneducated people always have such a struggle in life and a person with a poor character also has many strikes against him or her but put the two issues together and you get a person who is knowledgeable and also has good morals too.

Yes, I agree with you that child can be known too by his actions whether it is good or bad. That's why the book of proverbs is telling us to train our child in the way he should go so that when he is old, he will not depart from it.
