I am used to be living in the city too and well I got my parents who live in the country side and I never miss a single holiday with them as I love being there with the parents and also to live in such a pleasant and peaceful environment. There are no rules and regulations to be there and to live happily though.

Hi med: I don't lose a weekend without going out with my parents to the country. I enjoy the plans that they made, and the food they prepare but at the same time...for me, the feeling of being outside of the city, and that everything is far from you it's not so comfortable. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day.

Hey princess!
I love living in the city because i don't have to walk for a few kilometers to get to the nearest shop(which is the case when i am visiting my grandma).Another good thing is that my friends are in the city and at the country side.
The bad thing about city life is the pollution and if you don't like being around a lot of people. In the country the only thing you have to watch for is cow mines(believe me you don't want to step in them ^^).The good things are that the air is cleaner and you can go for a walk practically everywhere!.
In my opinion you should try to mix living in the country side and in the city and i think that's what i am going to do :).
Happy mylotting

I was born in a city and I want to die in the city! I am absolutely in love with the Urban life and I could not imagine myself in another place else other than busy streets with busy people who have absolutely no time for you lol! Not that the country is so bad I like a little getaway every now and then too. Feel breezes and fresh air from mountain tops and valleys and farms and such. But I know I cannot last long in a place like that without convenience stores and clubs and bars. I cannot say it enough I am absolutely in love with the urban life, and I cannot imagine myself leaving the city. Maybe you should also look into New Zealand too unless you're a big drinker then Ireland might really be the place for you lols! I myself would love to move to New York someday.
Great topic, princess! ++!

Hi princess: It's nice that you appreciate the country, in my case I don't see living in a country for a long time. Actually, my parents have a house in the country side of my town and they invite me to go with them for the weekends. I like it but I don't see myself living in a place like that. I mean, I prefer the city where everything is near and I enjoy my internet connection. I don't feel the stress of living in a city at this moment so I think, I'll have to live and work before wanting to live in a country. Thanks for asking me this question. Have a nice day.

Right now my husband is still working nearby our home, and he has a good fifteen more years of working life before he reaches a retirement age in the workforce. So, I don't think we would be moving elsewhere, unless that one of us gets a fortune and we become rich so that we don't have to work anymore.
As for myself, I am working from home as a writer and still grasping to achieve something meaningful in life. My place is not a large city but it is modern enough because we have all the necessary facilities within 2 minutes of driving. I can even walk to the nearest hypermarket because it is so near my house. I like living here because of its modern facilities but at the same time is not too crowded like a huge city. The people are still busy like city people so they are not nosy all the time, and I can have a peace of mind.

At the point in my life where I am now, I see myself in the city. I have to have access to my job and the many other things I need right now in my life. I'm at a busy point in my life right now and need the amenities of the city. But when I retire, I would love to get a little quiet place in the country. Just not at that point yet.

I guess I'm on the border line as regards where I live! I live quite close to the countryside although it's also fairly built up and so can be classed as being just outside the city! I prefer the countryside to the city without question! I love the fresh air and the wildlife and it's just very nice!
I think that the city has become too polluted in terms of car exhaust fumes and so forth. If you are moving out into the countryside then I'm pretty sure that you will notice a difference in terms of peace and quiet, that's to say it may be too quiet for your liking, this is probably what you are looking for though.
I have dreams myself and they involve me living in total isolation with nothing but the sea and the wind for company! It sounds quite poetic but well, it's nice to have lovely pictures and images in your mind of what you would like to experience in life! In anycase I wish you well and hope you achieve what you want to achieve. Andrew

I grew up in the city and lived there all my life. But now, we have a new home 13 kms away from the city. That's a ten to 15-minute ride.
The good thing about the new place is that, it is not as polluted, crowded and noisy as the city but it does not lack also the necessary amenities. There is a nearby grocery store, and there's adequate transportation to and from the city.
I love it there because it's closer to nature and much peaceful but my job is here in teh city so I believe there is balance in the way things are going.

Well, I would love to live in the country side, but for now, I need to live in the city because of work. If I could find a job outside the city, I would definitely move to the countryside, but in my country those jobs are pretty hard to find, since most people as well as most companies are based in the cities.
