Usually when I am done pumping my gas into my car I jerk the nozzle right out and put it back. Many times this has resulted in me almost splashing gas all over myself or my feet/shoes. So finally one day I had a bright idea when you are done getting gas whether it's a quick couple gallons or your filling up either way once you are done slightly raise up the nozzle (without removing it)and wait at the very least 10 seconds. I usually wait longer. That way all the excess precious gas drains down into your tank instead of on the ground or worse on you. I can't believe it took me this long to come to this revelationI sure hope it helps you out to at the pump!

Makes sense to me! Every little bit helps. I am usually very careful to not spill or splash gas, but have felt embarrassed to tip the nozzle to get all the gas out. Usually the hose attached to the pump is near the ground, so to get it all, you'd need to lift it starting at the pump. One of these days when I'm in a mood, I'll do that.

I always give the pump a little shake before removing it from my gas tank.. that usually keeps it from dripping on me.. though a few little drips in the tank isn't going to make much difference anyways.. you burn more than that just starting the car. Of course I believe a little in abundance is a lot, so I still do it anyways.
