Group C has an unusual look to it with Slovenia leading the group with 4 points, USA and England are second and third with 2 points and Algeria has 1 point. All four teams have chances to qualify, who do you think will qualify for the next round? My picks from this group are Slovenia and USA and England go out at the first round.
What do you say? Again no fence sitting please, just two teams who will go to the next round!!
Cheers!
Ram

Hi ram yeah its true that at the moment Slovenia is heading the group but all can change.I think that the two team who will make it tot he second round are England and USA.In the last and final group game I think England will be able to defeat Slovenia and USA will get the better of Algeria.

Good good. So we are going head to head here. I agree that USA will most probably beat Algeria as they do not seem capable of scoring. But England also do not seem to be capable of scoring and remember for the final game, they will not have Carragher, King or Rio for the central defensive role. So I guess Gareth Barry might be pushed to play that role, meaning that Slovenia would have a chance to have a go at the makeshift defense!!
Cheers!

I didn't see England play well. I think Slovenia and USA will be going for the second round. World Cup 2010 has many surprise. Slovenia is not a small team. They have many skillful player. If you watched slovenia vs usa yesterday, you'll see how they play. I think "Birsa" is the dangerous player.

Hi ram yeah we are indeed going head to head. However I don't think that Capello will take chance with Barry playing in a defensive role.I think he will opt for agenuine defender instead.Even Michael Carrick will be a good choice. At the same time I think that England need to shuffle their forward line a bit with the introduction of Crouch in place of Heskey.

I think that it will be England and the USA who go through. I do not know wether i am going with my head or my heart but there is no way that England will play that poorly again. Hopefully they will change the side round a bit. Jammie Carragher is banned so i can see Mathew Upson partnering Terry at the back. Hopefully Heskey will be dropped as although he works hard you can't have a centre forward playing who can't score goals. I would play Rooney up on his own with Gerrard playing behind him and then Lampard, Joe Cole, Gareth Barry and Aaaron Lennon making up the midfield.
I think that the USA will beat Algeria and then it will be down to goal differance who tops the group.

I actually think either USA or England. But you will never though. But, my pennies are with England.
