The English Football Team ( I use the term VERY loosely!!)
Once again they played like they didn't care a hoot, they were a load of sh!te!!
I get so annoyed as the country is 110% behind them, everyone has gone to so much trouble to decorate, shops, houses, streets etc, we're spending a fortune on English merchandise - and how do these over paid idiots respond - by playing like the local blind school - that's how!!!!!!
They are all there with their mansions of houses, jewellery dripping botoxed WAGS, a fleet of expensive cars AND THEY'RE NOT DOING THEIR JOBS!!!
If I wanted my house painted and employed the highest paid professional in the country I'd expect a good job, same with our National football team - start deducting some money, and in a big way, from their inflated wages and perhaps they will start to look like they want to win!
Oh and getan ENGLISH manager - I'm going to start a campaign to make Beck's our next manag er, at least he's patriotic and looks like he cares!!

LOL - I have just written a new discussion on last nights game as well ... well you and I obviously have the same opinion and we are both shocked at the state of the game! It was actually embarrassing to watch... I have to say that because after last weeks performance with the USA, I really thought that our so called team would fight back with a vengeance but apparently not. I mean how many times did they let the ball go out of their possession. One minute we had it, the next we were kicking it to an Algerian. There looked like there was no planning at all. Yes maybe they did start playing better after the second half again, but no where near the level they should have played. It was ridiculous and I am quite annoyed about it. I really thought that Fabio might have given the team a good talking to and made them buck their ideas up.
I also agree with you with David Beckham. I was watching him at the sideline last night, and he was indeed very patriotic and getting right into the game. It must be very frustrating for him to be sat their watching his team let the opposition take control of the game. And what the hell was all that shirt pulling and tugging that was forever going on???
I will sign your petition!!! And I really think that perhaps maybe you and I should jump on the next flight over their and give our boys a stern talking to about how they are humiliating our country. I think if they get sent home for the World Cup, they should all hide their heads in shame, because I know that we wil just be so annoyed that they have allowed this to happen. They now have 5 days to get their A R S E S in gear, and sort themselves out.
Phew - sorry about that, I had to let off some steam!!!

they have always kept on fumbling and tumbling at the World Cup for years already..it's as if they have some sort of stage fright in front of the World Cup audience. i was hoping some sort of improvement when they brought in the manager to replace the other dude..but now it seems like even that couldn't work for them

Hi Oldchem, Oh Beckham would make a great manager, notthat patriotic though as went off to Spain and LA but get you gist. I was the game and was bored stiff and I agree they get PAID HEAPS and DON'T do the job. Sort it out boys, playing like this you don't deserve to win at least look like you want to eh! Huggles. I was totally surprised that they performed the way they did. In my young dsays the English team was a feared team and much respected. Nowadays they can'tr seem to get the ball right. They insult England the way they play. And I'm not English but the same kind of nonsense goes on in Trinidad where all the players are politically appointed and they can't win a match. Trinidad is not in the World Cup because the players are not paid well at all and they are not placed on the basis of talent or ability.

Sadly Bluepatch lack of money cannot be blamed for their poor play, they get FAR too much money!!
IMO the problem lies in British football as a whole, instead of training up our home grown talent our clubs have far too many foreign players so when it comes to pick a national team we don't have that many to chose from!

Hello, Sue. It's not very often I'm rendered speechless, but that shower managed it last night. I could have played better than that, and I'm 58 with 3 types of arthritis, and no co-ordination.
Capello's instilled discipline into the squad, but now they need some passion - and not the kind of passion we've been reading about in the tabloids, either. I'm with you on Beckham - he loves his country, and he loves the game. He's also well regarded arounf the world. When can he start, and more importantly, will Victoria let him?

Some of the world's costliest players and the world's costliest coach could only produce a shoddy performance at best!! Two matches and two points that's a shame. I actually do not pick the English to qualify for the next round. I pick Slovenia and USA to make it to the next round from this group.
BTW, there are a huge set of discussions on topics related with FIFA world cup under the topic Soccer. You can participate in those discussions as well.
Cheers!
