I found myself always eating lots of junk food.Although I always do exercise like jogging or weight lifting, but just can't stop eating especially when doing anything with the computer.I don't think it is a good habit since my weight and health will be affected.Perhaps it is a way to reduce stress and frustration of life ,but it shouldn't be a good way.Well,if you have such an experience or any good suggestion that may help,You are free to write on the response to this topic.Have a good day.

One way that I gained some control of my poor eating habit (I love sweets) is by not having any money. I can't afford to buy lots of cakes, candies, and ice cream. Years ago I took this course at Eastern Michigan University where I learned that when you are stressed that you have to watch what you eat. Dr. Weil has some great advice for people under stress and since I am under great stress now (problems with landlord, job searching in an area where jobs are hard to find, and fighting for my unemployment), I have to watch what I eat. For sweets, I eat dark chocolate and for my high cholesterol I eat walnuts.

that's one of the good thing i have countered so far, and that is to reject sweets and chocolates. well, i never put it in my budget to purchase them, so some how it has kept me from gaining more weight. when i am also in a stress i would eat a lot but not all the time. my favorite is milk chocolate

So don't spend time in front of the computer then! LOL. Kidding aside, I am like that too.I don't like drinking water so what I do is I have this tumbler of water in my office desk so I unconsciously drink water while busy working. That's how I'm able to get the daily intake of water required by my body.
In your case, probably you can just change what you eat from junk foods to fruits or raisins. Or if you still love junkfood, then lessen it. say you consume two packs of chips. Replace the other one with bowl of grapes or raisins. Or replace them with unsalted nuts instead of junk food piled with preservatives and calories.

Well stopping an action that has become routine is no easy feat .There are surely hardships in overcoming bad habits, especially when it comes to food.As is the case with most bad habits, there are a variety of forces that can drive up toward bad eating. The main causes can be
1.A lack of discipline
2.Stress
3.Convenience
One of the worst eating habit is overeating. The main reason behind this is lack of discipline.Overeating is often the result of intense hunger. To get over this bad habit this bad habit one should ,try to eat before you are overly famished. When eating, try toeat slowly and savor each bite. Our brain takes some time to register a feeling of fullness, so by slowing your pace you will keep your portions at a healthy size.
Digging junk food is another bad eating habit. You rewrote the food guide to include only one major food group. The root of the problem is convenience. There is a reason that junk food is called “junk.”Your typical junk foods are rarely nutritious while your typical snack foods are rarely satisfying, making it easy to overindulge. Much of the problem with today ’s dieting lies with boredom.People get tired of eating the same food day after day, and junk foods offer a convenient escape. Don ’t become a slave to this convenience.Healthy foods can offer the same variety as junk, but the motivation to opt for change will have to come from within.
Another bad eating habit is speed eating. The main reason for this is stress.Your solution then is to actively try and slow down. You can help yourself by avoiding finger foods. Instead, choose more complicated food items that will require utensils and time to finish Tackle the root of the problem by learning some stress-reduction techniques like meditation.
Last but not the least, admit that You’re a Mindless Muncher. The second you ’re in front of a TV, you hit cruise control and stop paying attention to the food flowing into your mouth.Spaced-out eating can be a symptom of various causes. Perhaps you ’re stressed and attempting to take your mind off the burden or maybe it ’s just convenient to eat your dinner with your favorite show.Whatever the reason, the habit needs to stop. Try and identify the root of the problem first, and if possible tackle that. Then do yourself a favor and separate food from television. If you must snack, have a suitable portion prepared before you sit down. At best, try to eat major meals only when you ’re fully engaged.
I hope my response will help you to gain some knowledge and get control over you bad eating habits if you have any
Happy myloting.

For me personally, the way that I've changed my eating habits was to use a lot of moderation. I've always liked junk food just like you say that you do, but I know that there was a time that I was eating too much junk food, so I really started watching the amount of junk food that I was consuming. Then, when I am hungry and I've already had my personal quota of junk food, I will eat some fresh fruits or vegetables instead.

You will work harder to change your bad habit. Do you have the determination to stop eating when doing anything with the computer ? I suggest that you should do not buy any junk food in your house . So there is nothing food you can eat ,when you want to eat . The method is simple , but it can not to keep . So I hope you can insist on doing it , then you will succeed in overcoming your bad habit .Good luck to you .

It's good that you are doing a lot of exercises, and it can help you to maintain your health. As for eating, when you always have the crave to eat it may due to certain emotional stress as well. Maybe hypnotherapy can help you overcome this problem. There are a lot of free hypnotherapy available in you tube, so when you have the time you can go and have a check there.
Good luck.

Hello wildlittlefan,
You're not the only one who got fond of eating junk foods. so am i, but there is a little difference is that i was eating a junk food that has actually lot of vitamin contents in it. my advice is eat more vegetables and less junk foods, at least once or twice a week, you will get good results, it doesn't have to full stop, just do it slow.

It is often very hard to resist food especially when it is just there or when you have the power to buy any food you want. I also have very little power to discipline myself regarding eating foods that are supposed to be prohibited because they are usually the most tempting to the palate. But I notice though that my craving for food becomes less after I exercise. I lose some appetite after exercising. So I guess this helps.

To control your eating habits if that is what you are wanting to do, I think that by knowing that you have a problem with what and how much you eat then, it should be easier for you to correct it. I do not exercise at all, other than running around after my kids, but I try and eat properly during the day, and that has helped me lose some weight and keep it off. I used to be really lazy when it came to food, and always relied heavily on a takeaway or junk food, just for the ease of it, because lets be honest it is so much easier to enjoy food that is already prepared for you rather than cook something yourself. If you know that your eating habits are bad, then you can get the will power to change it, you don't have to eat healthy all the time, but maybe just eat the odd junk food on occasions in moderation. As for eating whilst using the computer, either try not to do it, or choose to eat something as a snack that is a little more healthier. You are in control of the situation, you just have to tell yourself "NO" which is what I learnt to do. (Also drink more water as that fills you up, so you do not require to eat so much food).

I know that feeling. Its the same with me. I can't stop on stuffing my face even though my mind stomach says I'm full, my mind makes me crave for something nice to eat!!! Its the worst when I'm on the net in front of my lappy, I get the urge to eat, eat and eat more!!! Think I have some eating disorder. I have no control over my eating habits. I would love to find out some way to curb my appetite. Heard smoking makes you lose your appetite and sometimes I think maybe I should take that up to curb my appetite. Wink wink.

Actually you don't have to control your eating habit if you are always exercising. Just be sure that your losing more calories than gaining, else you will surely gain weight. I know someone who loves to eat junk food but still maintain his body. I got that tip from him. He told me: "Eating is not a sin if you exercise."

You must have the motivation to control your eating habit.
