I am pretty familiar with Ebay, I do like to but clothes for my daughter on the UK Ebay site, because I love the style of clothes sold there. I have to say I hardly ever have any problems. I pay with Paypal, which is quick and if it happens something is late in mail, I always find a way to get my stuff anyway.

I have been a buyer and a seller on E Bay for many years now and not had any problem what so ever. I always pay by PayPal and take PayPal as payment, you also have some guarantees from both E Bay and PayPal if there are any problems. It is very easy to sign up for E Bay and very easy to both buy and sell, it is somewhere that you can usually find things that you can't find else where. Some of the items are very expensive but you can pick up a real bargain and you can lso make a nice bit of money on goods you want to get rid of our by selling things that you make yourself

I don't think any site on the internet is totally safe. But with that being said, I have bought and sold items on eBay for several years, and I have never had a bad transaction! If you do your research on the seller you are buying from, you can almost always be sure to have a smooth transaction. Experienced sellers are not trying to rip people off, they just want a smooth transaction also, and I think you'll find they list their items honestly. I always pay with Paypal, and if the seller doesn't ship the item, I email them a couple of times. If not satisfied with their follow-up, I open a claim with Paypal against the seller. If the item is a high-priced item, I'd use my credit card, and pay through Paypal. Using the credit card allows me to bypass Paypal and just open a claim with the issuer of my credit card...it's just an added "insurance protection" that I will not lose my money in a bad transaction. My advice to everyone is to research the seller. Only purchase items from sellers that have been selling similar items on eBay for a long time. These sellers are usually legit and just trying to make money honestly. Selling your items is easy, but I believe you'll need to register a credit card, or checking account to sell on eBay. The best way to get bids is by offering clear images of your items, and adding honest descriptions. A new seller that receives less than perfect feedback will find their items being ignored or selling for far below it's worth because most buyers don't want to be bothered dealing with having to file a claim. I hope this helps!

I see ebay sometimes as a waste of time. I mean yes I did buy stuff from it. But once I needed a business law book that was over 160 bucks in bookstore. So in the end I had to turn to ebay. I saw one that was really cheap, but the seller wanted to be payed by check. I did it and waited for my book to arrive. 4 weeks passed. There was no news or mail from the seller. I emailed him. He did not respond. In the end, I complained to Ebay who pushed him to reply to me. The guy said it would take 5 days for my check to get clearance from bank and only then he would send me the book. Meanwhile, I couldn't really wait and had to borrow the book from one of my classmates. But yeah, the book did arrive eventually. So you basically have to be really careful. They cannot totally fool you though. The scammers usually get bad ratings and comments. So people stay away from them. Also much of what you will be getting depends largely on the sellers. I bought an Ipod from there 4 years ago. It still plays and looks like a new one. I also bought another book from there. Yes, it took two weeks, but it was cheaper.
