surprises

In the garden this morning I found a new flower. I know I did not throw any of that kind of seed this year, but remembered that I did last year with no success. It was a beautiful surprise and reminded me that in life many of the ideas or even thoughts that we throw out into the world don't show any results until much later. Are you aware of this in your life?

Although I haven't planted any flower seeds, just grown plants, since I've been here I was surprised last spring to see a lovely purple flower at the side of the house where I like to sit in the shade. This year there were two of them! The man who owned the house before me did not grow flowers and neither of my neighbors has flowers like this. It was a wonderful gift! They didn't last long but I enjoyed them so much.
I know we must be patient for our wishes to come true and many times they come true and we don't realize it until later. If we sow seeds of good deeds and thoughts they will always return even if what we wish for doesn't.

I had a tree spring up at least fifteen years after I had planted a seed from it. I do know that things bear fruit in their own time.

Hi Savypat, As I was reading this thesong 'Sowing the seeds of love' by Tears For Fears came into my head, yes we sow all sorts of things out into the world and yes it is a wionderful suprise when something grows from that maybe even many years later but yes I am aware although can't think of a particular one rightat this moment in time. Huggles. Ellie :D

You write such lovely thoughts Pat! I agree with you. I recall making wishes that appeared not to have come true so I gave up on them until a long time later there was my desire manifested for me! One example is my wish for a new car at a time when I could not afford one at all. I had my eye on a nice amethyst coloured hatch and wished so hard for it to no avail…Or so I thought! Some six years later my husband bought me a second hand car he found in excellent condition for a good price and guess what? It’s an amethyst colour and better than the one I originally wished for! I had forgotten my prayer until I saw the car! Good things come in due course...

This is really a beautiful sentiment. I know that there are a lot of things that we do in our lives that are full of reward, but they definitely don't show the reward right away. With raising children I have to keep this in mind each and every day because there are things that I have to do right now that may seem to hurt them initially, but in the long run they are things that are very good for the children.

As for flowers, we had a pink wildflower bloom this year that only blooms when we get a lot of rain. Not sure if we threw the seed out for that one or not.
As for ideas and/or thoughts, I'm sure that's very true, but derned if I can think of an example right now.

dear pat,
sometimes, we spread love without waiting for them to love us back but sometimes too, the surprise we get is priceless. i remember that saying/thought/ or was it a parable.. good deeds you give, returns back to you a thousand folds. and it returns back to you when you least expect it.
have a very nice day pat.

Yes, you are right. Hard work at first doesn't show any signs for instance. But eventually, you get promoted or something, which is the fruit of it.
