I'm ONE when it comes to Coffee and Tea I never had those voluntarily....there have been some occassions where i was forced to have them by my relatives...it was my cousin sister's marriage and there was no way out than to oblige them coz they might end up thinking that i'm arrogant or too stubborn I had few other experiences as well---when i met some strangers at the malls or restuarants when i was hanging out with my friends. They gave me a cold look when i said "I dont Drink Coffee or Tea" First thing comes to my mind is ------"Guyz you can enjoy your favourite drink whilst i enjoy my fruit juice or a chilled beer----there's no need to open your mouth that wide".If you insist in joining you then i wouldnt mind having a cappuccino . Are you one of those who try to make fun of others tastes or habits ??? I would never do that coz i know how embrassing it can be when you're the ODD one amongst strangers who share a common interest. People do have different tastes and you dont have impose your favourites on them by making fun of them or insulting.Rather they should try to respect them for being different ? What do you think???

I think it is your yellow butt that draws their attention. Trying drinking coffee and check if they continue to stare. All the best. :)

Hey sunny! I am like you are! I don't like coffee and only drink green tea in the Winter months and very rarely order it when I'm out! I would prefer to have juice or a diet coke! And when I'm with friends who want to go out for "a cup of coffee" I get a diet coke instead! And, yes sometimes they look at me weird, but I just say I don't drink coffee and don't want tea either! If they don't respect my choice then too bad! I just don't order something that I don't want to make them happy now that would be silly!

Awwwww! Poor mario! You can come visit in the Winter if you want! NY has some miserable Winters. You can see some pretty snow and slush and ice and freezing cold and you will be on the next plane home! But, the invite stands! And you too sunny!

won't be anytime soon dear there is just too much work to be done over here right now...any holiday travels would have to be put off until next year unless i can somehow classify the trip under 'work'...

@sunnybunny - it may be our culture, but it is bad manners on the part of the guests. At least that is what dad said and so I too gulp down many things that I wouldnt give a second glance on normal days. :) @meluan - to find a suitable weapon with which I could do my role as a villain. :)

Yeah, you're right. People shouldn't just force others if they don't wanna drink coffee or tea. If you like fruit juice good for you. I wouldn't force on anything but fruit juice.

I sometimes refuse the coffee or tea just because I don't want people to bother serving me. Even though I like coffee. The tea though I prefer it only at breakfast...or when I'm sick And I agree with you, people shoudn't force someone to drink coffee or tea just beacause it's not polite to refuse the host when it offers you something. It's a respect issue from both sides but as long as I don't like the offer than why waste it on me, right?

I do not drink hot Tea, I do however drink Iced Tea. I will drink Hot Tea, but there is never an occasion for me to do so, I do drink coffee from time to time but not very often, I guess I do more so in the winter months. To each their own, I don't think it's odd you don't like the two drinks, some people don't and some people do, it's all a matter of taste.

hi there. i am not too big with tea. and when i went to the middle east, most people would drink it. i would be offered it, but i seem to not settle it in my stomach. i would always refuse. i also got the same reactions. but i didn't take any offense. yes, people would react, and i just do not think about it negatively. maybe they are just wondering how come you dont. i also get this a lot when i am offered a smoke. but the thing there is they get to just accept the fact that i do not. and still they let me hang out with them. at times i would decline nicely. or at times i would try, just for them to see that i didnt just refuse right away. at least they see that i try to enjoy what they are having. ;-)

I guess I am kind of the oddball. I don't usually drink coffee and it was a longtime before I aquired a taste for tea. I do enjoy some tea now but coffee has to have a certain creamer for me to enjoy it. I think that there are so many people that prefer these specific drinks that others sometimes do take for granted that everyone enjoys them.

I sure love ice coffee, but i guess its only me, my friends dont like it, they want it hot, well my kids love ice coffee, but...they dont wanna make it, they just wait for me to do the ice crash and shaking amd then they are all lined up... wahhh no more left for the old man.. But there is one thing that is a favorite for all of Us, Family and Friends, It is this food called Kebab, w/c i believe originated in your country, we like it very very much, the owner says they buy the spices direct from India via online sales. I wish i would know those spices but its a well kept secret, i believe. Ok what am i saying, i respect other people's taste, so they respect my taste too.

Hi sunnycool, i like tea than coffee. People will have different tastes, we should not impose or insult them. I never agree for this. One will have according to their choice. While reading your discussion i remembered one incident, we went to marriage once to a small village there they offered us coffee. It tastes like neither coffee nor tea, i don't know what to keep name for it. My brother till today will make fun on that coffee. From that time onwards i avoid having tea or coffee if i go to marriages or functions. I will just have butter milk. If any one offers me i will just take it and keep it up aside.
