Last saturday, me and my cousin had a small trip on one of CDO's main so-called tiangge, and we come across to this street in cogon where there are a lot of ukay2x stalls. I thought it was a waste of time coz most goods are shirts that are old fashioned, I almost gave up... till my cuz found this blouse that I instantly admire and bought it for just 20 bucks... Great deal! From then on I really look frward to get a visit to ukay2x stores.. I guess others won't agree on this.. heheh

Ukay2x items are really good actually, although they are second hand, they can never disappoint you since a single ukay2x store has a great variety of items, not limiting to one like the department store sections. You can find different sizes too. Another thing for me, is that i love the ukay2x bags, they prove to be more efficient and long lasting than those found in department stores. The bags too, sometimes can bring you wealth =) ukay2x bags or shorts are 2nd hand and sometimes people tend to forget to clear the items before giving them away so they leave behind jewelry and stuff. If your lucky, you might find jewelry and i mean the real ones. I have dozen of people whom i know who were lucky enough to find jewelry. a jade ring and a diamond ring were the best finds i have known from people and that person was my aunt.

Wow! I wish I can get some of those jewels on ukay2 stuffs.. BUt I guess that's rare coz the retailers of Ukay2 firsthand inspect the goods before selling them...

Actually, have been to ukay-ukay but never bought a thing. I don't have a patient looking for stuff. Maybe I also have a phobia on looking on sale items because my phone got stolen while i'm in search of a blouse in one mall wide sale.

I dont "love" ukay-ukay but I like shopping for non-signature clother. Actually, I don't regularly go out and buy shirts for myself. I only buy shirts when I don't have any shirt left to wear or if I absolutely need one.

Oh yes! I really love ukay ukay! We actually have a night market here in Tagum City! If I feel like going out and buy something without spending too much, I go to our night market. There, I can buy bags, shirts and jackets. My last purchase in our night market was a red dress that costs 50 pesos! great isn't it?? :D

I used to love those second hand clothes but lately they have gotten quite pricey. J guess because the sellers are now aware of the branded stuffs and they sell it for a higher price. Also I became scare during the hype of H1N1 virus.

I really am not a fan of ukay ukay stores. i think that when it comes to 2nd hand stuffs, i will not buy 2nd hand clothes. i think i would rather buy from the cheap tiangge but new but not in ukay ukay. im not very fond of this as i heard that some of the donations being given supposedly here in the country are instead being "sold" in second hand shops.

My mother is also a fond of ukay - ukay because she can find big sizes for her. It is also economical because clothes there are cheap unlike if you buy brand new clothes. We buy clothes that we use everyday in Ukay-ukay.

I also buy second-hand clothes sometimes. But I carefully examine each of what I feel is still OK to use. It's economical for many but if you have the budget, I suggest you buy new ones. In the first place, we never really know who the real owner is and if the owner has a disease or something. I am not saying I'm against it. Only, be careful when choosing. Its always better to be extra cautious/careful.

yes, there are things or clothes in ukay ukay which are good enough.you just have to be patient when searching for nice clothes there. it is somehow much better to go to ukay ukay when you are really a thrifty buyer. and those occassions like you just have to wear something like only for one day, might as well be practical and buy to ukay ukay than those of malls where it takes you thousands, just imagine how much you can save for those clothes you can have from ukay than malls.

I love to go to ukay2x but I seldom buy. But there are instances especially shoes, I like to go to ukay2x for it is affordable. You can buy many shoes from ukay2x equivalent for only one branded shoe. I will for the many. However, in terms of clothing I go to the branded type of clothes because it can last long.

Some of the smaller ukay-ukay shops are barely okay-okay, but one doesn't have to go to Divisoria to find one or two that has a good selection. I once bought a slightly defective pair of shorts made in Costa Rica, with 'country' music playing in the background ;) Anyone born in the UK-UK should visit at least once! Eric

I am a fan of Ukay Ukay clothes and stuff. I have a high preference of choosing it over new ones because other than being branded, it is cheaper (though i WOULD prefer of having it NEW, i need to have money to do so lol). Even here in Thailand, people still visit stalls of second hand clothes. You were lucky having the right stuff you like at a bargain price. Some were unfortunate enough to settle into something they don't like yet very much needed, so they bought it still. Perhaps because of this discussion, i might check the stalls tonight eh? Hehe..

I also love ukay ukays! though I get an allergic reaction everytime I rummage for clothes. Some Ukay-ukays are now pricey, especially if they're on a good location and have aircon. Sometimes you'll just want to buy in divisoria. Also, some store owners price in-demand clothes high. I was in cubao and their black office skirts were 120 each but skirts of higher quality but in a different color were just 20 bucks! haha. I guess the thrill of finding something cheap and beautiful is the heart of the ukay ukay experience. as a bargain hunter, I really love shopping in ukays

Hi, welcome here in Mylot. I like your topic, yes I've been there in Cogon, CDO for there are lots of UKAY-UKAY store line up. We can choose any tiangge of Ukay ukay, looking for a nice blouse, shirt, skirts and others. It only cost us less than a hundred bucks. Good thing that we have an UKAY UKAY here, for those less fortunate people can afford to buy their clothes. Even me, I used to buy some blouses in Ukay ukay.
