I have heard of that when I was still young, that girls mature earlier than boys when it comes to physcial, mental and emotional aspect. I still can't figure out about it because if we'll talk about physcial aspect, boys and girls go through puberty stage, so what's the difference? While with mental and emotional aspect, I think it is more on the environment or his/her upbringing.
What do you think? Is there a truth on this?

I think that it must depend on several different factors, such as their environment, friends, and things like that. However, from what I've somewhat noticed, a lot of the girls that I know do seem to mature a little more quickly than guys do. Maybe it's just what I've noticed from kids in my area, but it's an observation.

A girl can become a Mom often as early as 12 or 13 and Mother nature has made her mature enough to protect her young. Boys need to be able to provide for their young and so need bodies that can do this. I am not sure when males become able to reproduce but I think it's around 14. This is Mother Nature's way

Yes, i think so positively too.. But it still depends on the individual... some do mature physically at a very early age while some in the expected age (puberty). My sister had her menarche at 10 while I on the other hand at 12, my youngest sister @ 14 so it all depends... for the boys, i think you couldn't see the changes much more than you can see with girls.. One thing you'll know in boys is their voice change .. for mental/emotional aspect, it is dependent on the social side... I think that if the boy/girl is exposed to a situation/s wherein it could foster his mental/emotional matureness, then he/she is more likely to mature faster than the other kids, regardless of being a boy/girl...

I do believe that girls mature faster than boys. I have a twenty year old son and his girlfriend who is the same age is much more mature. I don't think it has anything to do with environment or upbringing. If you go to the local teen hangout and observe the behavior of typical teens you'll know what I mean.

Physically Girls mature fast and get old fast too than Boys. After physical maturity girls become very sensitive and serious thinkers, whereas boys acts like kids. Due to social restrictions girls cannot flirt like boys, hence they look matured than boys.

I also heard about that statement and i think it has some truth to it. Girls matured earlier than boys and that's what also my mother told me. But then I think it also depend on the environment and upbringing of the child. Sometiems family also plays a big part on it.
Like for example a boy who grow up in a garbage disposal area and learn to weeds through the garbage to earn a living at young age. They are a bit matured than the girl who born to a rich family and have many thing to enjoy in life. Yet they were the same age.

Hi,
That depends on what you consider as maturity. Physical maturity, yes, girls acquire it earlier than boys do. The definition of mental maturity differs from person to person. So its better to stay silent on that. Now, talking about maturity in this context, it really doesn't depend on upbringing. These are certain things that human beings acquire on their own, even if they are in the midst of a desert. Upbringing contributes much to the emotional and mental maturity, but then again, these two kinds of maturity is hard to define. I have seen ladies of age between 30 to 50 who claim to be matured and independent but in my consideration they are far from being matured. I have seen a boy of 12 with enough maturity to outsmart even a middle-aged man. So unlike the physical maturity, the mental and emotional maturity depends, like you said, on environment and upbringings. Thanks
God bless you
