Forgiving is just giving hate a small place in your heart.

This quote that I have seen in a movie entitled "A moment to remember" struck me. At the first time i heard of it... The meaning was really deep and i can't understand what this quote really means... Having watched it for over 5 times( well, i always cry when i watch it, it's very touching ), it's like i got an idea out of it.. I think it means something like this... Where do we bury memories we treasure? It's in our hearts, right? Hate is something negative.. so it's like, forgiving is accepting that hate as something positive, not only for your sake but for others as well.. So, what do you guys think?? Have a nice day! And Happy mylotting.. :D

the meaning is this: nobody wants to forgive someone, because all they feel is hatred... but to forgive is to give a little space for hate in your heart... it is only a little space, it is of not so much effort to exert and to give this opportunity and happiness for someone to be forgiven... you will later find out that when you forgive, and gave that small space for hate in your heart, that it is not only the person who has been forgiven who will be happy but also the person who gave forgiveness... because he has placed that hate in his heart, and that it transformed into a more meaningful love.

I don't think so and I don't agree with the statement. Forgiving is like letting go of the hatred and resentment...it's not about planting seeds of hate nor letting it stay there in some remote corner of your heart. Maybe I have just different views about it but it's just my opinion about it. When you forgive you are willing to forget the past and everything that is negative associated with it. It's like stepping in to a new world and you can't stay in the past emotions because it will consume you. So you have to set it free and let go of hate once and for all.

well i guess, the person who made that doesn't really know the power and the real meaning of forgiving. to forgive is to forget. forgiving certain person means forgetting the sins he had committed.

For hate to be forgiven there must be an active effort of forgetting.... our heart is simply too small to accommodate all the "hates" in our lives...Live hate-free and live worry-free and Live longer...

Hate is an emotion which could be as intense as love. It is natural. It is also deletable. Don't let it dwell in the heart.

Well hate is a strong feeling, and while we can carry it with us in our hearts, there is also the point that it is down to us to remove it from our hearts, not to bear a grudge because we can end up dwelling on things. Forgiveness is a choice that we all make, there is right and wrong in all that we do.
