Hi My fellow My Lotters!!!
Today, I just came across this very interesting thought, What if we slept tonight and woke up IMMORTAL the next day and we stay that way without ageing the rest of your life?
What do you think of such a thing? Immortality!! Is it a boon or a curse??
Do let me know your views on this really appealing and interesting topic!

I'm just wondering,Would waking up one day as an Immortal expand your consciousness to the point that You know this has happened? Or would there some kind of sign that suddenly reveals this new reality to you, like in that "Unbreakable" Movie,or "Green Mile"? I Dunno about it being appealling..would You really want to outlive your Family and Friends,or anyone You Loved? Or would this have happened to everyone? Does it just happen to Adults,or teens? Would a child want to remain a child? Can you get injured,or survive what would normally be a fatal accident?

I like this topic of discussion. Being 'immortal' is one of
the most sought after by emperors of olden days. They even willing
to pay high prices, to take whatever chances to look for it. In
many movies, looking for immortality seems like the ultimate for
many. Some of the movies like 'Myth' and 'Hancock' did shows us
the pros & cons of being immortal. Seeing love ones pass away is
indeed very sad for those who are immortal. Therefore, if everyone
we love, are immortal too where we can live happily with no worries,
then I will choose immortality .. being the perfect way of life!

Wow Iriene,
That's a very wonderful answer, Yeah if everybody is immortal, Then i would also like to be one. Wouldn't that be life!!!!
But if people keep dying around you and you are the only one in this world. It is goin to be very very very sad, painful, boring and lonely ( Though wise).
Totally with you.

That sounds like you would either be a vampire or simply become a god of those old times.. Of course, becoming immortal would have its consequences that mortals might not consider until they do realize them while being immortal.
If you are immortal, you can do whatever you want yet, that's the beauty of things that you want to do, you want to do it while you are still alive. However, if one would become immortal, existence seems to be something that one wouldn't give much recognition to since, there is no point in making any astounding mark in one's life.
Very complicating it seems.

Depends. Are just certain people waking up immortal or is everybody? Can we still have children and if so how are we going to handle the overcrowding? Are we going to get bored with life or will we just constantly be learning new things that we never had time for before? Will we stay our same age, go back to being young or continue to age? Can we be killed?

Right now the idea of becoming immortal and ageless sounds great but I have to wonder...In fifty or sixty years time when my loved ones will start to leave the earth who will I know? Sure I could have new friends but I would outlive those I love the most. I could not imagine outliving my own daughter and watching her die of old age. No, it is not something I would welcome, more like a curse than a privilege...

If its just me being an immortal that could make me so sad. When the people we love die, one by one, it just make the immortality useless. Live alone without somebody that we love so much, make this live very boring. Then, my conclusion is the imortality is totally curse.
