I rarely play the lottery, as I don't think it is totally worth it. A person can spend out a lot of money playing the lottery only to win nothing. I would rather not spend any money I have on such a game.

I think lotteries are a good way for governments to raise money as people choose whether to contribute or not. As an "investment", well, the odds never favor you. However, it's fun to play, and someone is always a winner. I would like to see more lotteries for specific causes, and also more lotteries that give a larger number of smaller prizes.

I think that it's mostly as someone once said, "One of my teachers in high school always said, “The lottery is a tax for those who can’t do math.” I play the lottery as a scratch off ticket at Christmas and sometimes if the prize is multiple millions. I think I buy about 10 tickets a year!
