what is the meaning of pierced ears for you?

there is a tradition in my region that every woman should pierced her ears. a baby girl is pierced when she is 1 month. i myself got pierced when i was a baby and so do my daughters. i think pierced ears is a sign for a woman. how about you?

Likewise. Here parents pierce the ears of little ones when they are just 1-2yrs old. Guess I got my pierced at around that time as well. Now I have 4 piercings on each ear. To me its just a fashion statement. I want another left ear only piercings at the top of my ear. Will get it done soon. I prefer studs to rings.

It doesn't hurt all that much but then I can withstand a lot of physical pain When I went to get one of my piercings, my mom came along with me. I didn't even blink when the guy pierced my ear so my mom didn't even realize it was done with!!

It was a tradition to pierce women earns mostly in Asian countries, now even boys pierce their ears, changing the old tradition into a fashion.

It is no more a tradition, it has become a fashion, i see men wearing a stud more than women now-a-days, which quite unusual in a country like India, well, lets welcome change if it is for good
