Shutter Island

I thought that this was a really good film. I was very impressed with Leonardo DiCaprio's acting in this film - he certainly seems to have grown a lot in his acting skills - before he always seemed like a boy and has now become a man; in fact the whole cast are brilliant as is Scorsese’s directing. DiCaprio's character - Teddy spends a lot of the film having his mind messed about with or wondering if he's going mad, by the time you've watched Shutter Island, you feel a bit like Teddy yourself!!This film is a great psychological thriller that really messes with your mind! The ending is very confusing and I think that different people take different views to it, this is my opinion, I think that Teddy does realise that he is actually Andrew Laeddis, but the guilt and pain he feels are too strong for him to live with so instead of living with he decides to pretend that he is still Teddy Daniels and let them lobotomize him, so that he can finally be free of the guilt and pain. He would prefer to have the of Teddy Daniel wiped than live with the sins and pain of Andrew Laeddis

i downloaded it before 1 month and tried to watch it on same day...but i was not getting that movie i have to think to get that movie..generally i like suspense movies but i left watching shutter island after 1 hour because i dont like movies who gives tension to your mind......sherlock holmes is better that shutter island......so i cant answer about ending of that film because i left watching it..i still have it in my pc.....but i will not see it happy mylotting

OMG! My daughter loved this movie and told me all about it. She had to watch it twice to understand all of it. Leonardo DiCaprio's character was actually the one who killed his wife after she killed thier kids. It's all understandable at the end because of what he says. When you think he's better he makes the doctors think he's not because he thinks that it's better to die a good man than live a monster.

I just watched this movie last night on Netflix and I too am perplexed. The ending threw me for a loop. I am still wondering who he was and if it was an elaborate hoax.

It was a great movie. Shutter Island is about an island that place people that have problem with their mind. Leornardo Dicaprio was one of them. He just think that there was other killers on that island and he need to catch him but he did not know that he was the one.
