Hated Twilight...Who's With Me?!?

Ok...honestly...am I the only one? Have I read the books? No. Quit asking. I've learned my lesson from the book bandwagon after the Harry Potter fiasco.
So, one day I decided to see what all the fuss was about. I loved 'Interview With A Vampire,' so I figured what the hell? Why not check out this Twilight movie.
Man oh man.
First off, let me say that I don't only dislike it because it's a 'chick flick' and I'm a 'dude.' That has nothing to do with it. 'PS I Love You' was a GREAT flick! I have no problem watching a flick that's geared toward women. A lot of times, those are gems. 'Hope Floats' is a prime example of that.
My beef with Twilight was simply this: It was a bad movie. Period. Bad acting. Bad cinematography. Bad script. Every actor was so stoic I thought they were robots. (And, by the way, since when were vampires emo?!?)
It was a horrible movie, and I couldn't wait until it was over. But every time I voice my opinion on this subject, I get verbally lynched!! I honestly don't see what all the fuss was about, and I need to know why I feel like the Omega Man about this Twilight movie.
Anyone?

Well i'm having slightly different view on this.I'm a guy so obviously i didn't liked the movie either. No guy would like a movie like that but that doesn't makes it a bad movie.I think that it was neither too good nor too bad.The reason why many people hated that stuff was that it was extremely overrated. So much promotion.Every one was expecting too much from it but things turned out to be a bit different. So we can't just say that Its written nowhere that the stuff we like is supposed to be good.Although story was pathetic and baseless but still there were few things that i loved in that movie.Actually only two things, one is bella and the second is alice.Rest all movie was crap.
But the thing that tormented me throughout the movie was that why don't Cullen's didn't attacked bella when she is having her periods. She must be bleeding at that time and also blood coming out of a woman's favourite part for men.

Don't you know that women don't have their periods unless it's a movie about pregnancy scares? lol

I read the first 2 books (my mother gave them to me). They were EXACTLY like the movies. Predictable. They helped me nod off at night. I'm not a "fan"... I don't hate them... but I don't think I'd watch them again unless I was SEVERELY bored, the weather was horrible, all my books spontaneously combusted and the teeny-boppers mounted a siege on my cable company and made Twilight the only thing on.
My boyfriend calls the lead kid the "a$$hole in the tree" LOL! (Even when he was on Leno and nowhere near a tree)

That's a great one! I'll tell my boyfriend you liked his name for Pattinson... we always laugh when we see him. (So I guess now he'll be the "Deep Fried A$$hole in the Tree".. hehe)
I haven't seen Breaking Dawn... and I only read the first 2 books... but I might donate a few hours to watch the other movies, if I'm really bored. lol! I'd rather be completely informed about the suckiness of a subject instead of just going off without all the facts... You can make better insults if you know what you're talking about lol

I watched the movie of Twilight 1 and 2. I also read the books. But I have to say that I just like the movie Twilight 1. It gives me a fresh feeling. If I was younger, perhaps I would have many imaginations:) This is why I started to read the book series. But I have to say that I felt bored to it. Maybe I didn't really enjoy this kind of love. Something just doesn't make a sense in my opinion. Especially I think Bella is not strong enough and I don't like it. It is just like everything is hopeless after breaking up. This is why I couldn't finished reading Twilight 3.
I love China

Are you single? lol...no, seriously, I hated the Twilight movie, too. I hate Kristin Stewart. The girl cannot act to save her life and I don't understand why she keeps getting roles. You described the movie very well. My daughter read the books and so was eager for the movies. I hadn't read them but was curious to see what my daughter was so crazy about. It was painful to sit through. The dialog was pathetic, the motivation was lacking and the whole thing was so pathetic that I could barely sit through it. Forget that these "vampires" were not traditional vampires.
Forget that the sun didn't disintegrate them or that they were living in Washington state where it rains more than not. The whole story could have been done better. There were so many holes in the plot that it lacked continuity. The only good part in the whole movie was the rescue scenes where Edward stopped the van and the other one where he saved her from the creeps that were stalking her. Beyond that, I could not understand what she found attractive in him, why she suddenly with no reason declared her love for him. I mean, the whole scene leading up to her telling him she loved him didn't have anything that would elicit that response. I'm with you on this one.
I only saw the first movie of the series and was so disgusted by it that I was appalled that they even considered making the sequel...especially with the same actors! I wouldn't even call this a B movie. B movies usually have better acting and this film was a waste of time for me and money for the studio. It sickens me that they even made a profit on this. Sad, eh?

P.S. My daughter agreed with me and swears that the books are so much better. But, note, please, that she has seen the second movie and would watch the third and fourth. She's just a Twilight junkie. haha.....
From daughter:
Okay, so I loved the first book. As most girls, I was in love with Edward, but come the second book, when he left for no good reason, I was disgusted. The only reason I'm interested in the books or the movie whatsoever is because of Jacob. He is the only good part of it all. AKA Taylor Lautner has my heart. LOL
From me again:
Typical teenager, eh? LOL

i haven't read the books too. and the first movie, i slept in the cinema, the second uh... after 5 minutes or 10, i quit. and i'm a girl. REAL ONE. hahahah... i won't be able to give a sound judgment over the movie because (again, i slept and quit) i don't really find it interesting and i can't really tell why but i believe i had no problems with dracula love story. with twilight however, i felt it's so over romantic that i can't make myself believe we're still watching vampires (and wolves), so over romantic that yeah while before vampires more to black or goth metal, now they're turning emos. okay i give up, i can't put it in good words but i think i'm not liking how vampires are becoming nowadays, hahahah... so much development for fictional characters.

I've only seen the first movie and I will never read the books. It's simply a stupid story that wasn't thought out at all. I'm a true blood fan. Now that's vampires! No sparkling vegetarian peeping toms, just sexy bada** vamps. :)

I agree with you. I hated the movie. It sucked big-time. I am a fan of the four Twilight books. So I was excited to see the movie. I even watched the film on the third day of showing. It was a pure waste of time and money. Yes, everything in the film was bad. The actors had lame acting. It was also so cheesy that it was so irritating. The book was a very good read. It was so far from the way the film portrayed it.

Hmm, I almost fell asleep watching Twilight, just don't understand the appeal on this flick. It has such a slow pace and although I think it has stellar cast (I think every actor has good job portraying the character), the story does not have that much of emotional depth.

You are not alone.
I tried avoiding this movie series at all cost. It's been my experience that anything that gets a lot of hype and attention- especially from teeny boppers- is not worth my time. Yet, my cousin just had to see it so I watched part of it.
The acting is HORRIBLE. If anyone tells me that they watch that movie because of the spectacular acting or dynamic characters, I'm gonna have to laugh my head off.

I am really not interested in any of these vampire things, so I have not seen or read anything related to Twilight, and I don't think I will either. I just feel like it is sort of childish and that I am too old for that kind of stuff. I don't mind others who like these things though, it's up to them!
