I'm looking to buy a laptop. My computer is old and not working properly. I'm on a limited budget and would consider refurbished but are thay reliable. Does anyone have any advice when it comes to buying a laptop. Thanks for any help you can give.

For a refurbished computer, you should ALWAYS get one from a respectable company, as you know they have been refurbed properly
For laptops, don't get features you aren't going to use, like a gaming graphics card if you're only going to be browsing the internet.

Thanks for the info that helps. I don't do a whole lot with the computer so I don't need a lot of features that i'll never use.

It depends on the kind of things you will be using hte laptop for. Like he said, if you want a gaming laptop, you can check out sties like www.cyberpowerpc.com or www.ibuypower.com. if youre just looking for a simple laptop for web browsing and word processing, you can go with HP or dell, as they offer cheap options

Here in our country, India, the refurbished laptops remain unreliable. Laptops in general are difficult to refurbish, in my opinion, unlike the desktops. So be very selective in going for a refurbished laptop, which I believe is the practice in US etc.

I agree although price is an issue I have heard horror stories about refurbished laptops. Thanks for your input.
