Roger Federer was nearly ousted in the first round of Wimbledon by little known Columbian Alejandro Falla. Falla won the first two sets 7-5 6-4, before Federer came back from the dead to win the next three sets 6-4, 7-6, 6-0 to progress to the next round. But it was a real rude shocker of an opener for Roger Federer.
What are your views on the match?
Cheers!
Ram

as the years are passing Federer seems easy to lose from any one like other tennis greats face this phase during their retirement

Thanks for sharing ram_cv. I have just realized that Wimbledon has already started when I read this post. Oh my! That's a surprise even for Roger. That's really the best thing for little known players. They tend to show and give it their all especially when they face well-known players such as Roger Federer. At least through that opening game for Roger, he'll be careful and less sloppy next time. He'll definitely make it up for the next game knowing that everyone wants to win this tournament badly as him. That everyone no matter how low in the ranks have a fair shot at winning the wimbledon title as he does. Best of luck Roger !

I ram_cv (3037)! Thanks for the post! I love it that an "unknown" like Falla can come out strong and challenge one of the tennis elite. As with so many sports, it can sometimes be a bit dull when the same people are always on top. Although I like Federer and believe him to be one of the all time greats, I would love to see an underdog win against a big name. Thought it might be this one. I'm sure Federer will have his eye open for the rest of the tourney now.
