Yes, Facebook has helped me build my online business because I'm a writer who depends on page views. I use Facebook as medium to inform the world that I have created a new article, story, or poem. Other people use it to broadcast events. Facebook can be a really good tool as long as you don't prattle endlessly or get sucked into stupid games like Farmville--I hate Farmville!

I will be starting a new business very soon. I am working on a website but the majority of my business will be done offline. I never thought of promoting it on Facebook, though. I became a member of Facebook when my son lived in another state. He said that I could always get in touch with him by that means, so I created an account. I've done very little there, actually. I've bumped into some very old friends and that's really cool but, other than that, I have no idea about the majority of Facebook. I suppose I should promote my business there, huh? Inadvertently.....I write books...and have connected with others I knew a long time ago and now they are buying books.....so it helped! But I really didn't do it on purpose.
