'getting old is fault towards the family ' ?

people living in conjested areas are striving for food . so it becomes them to look after their elders difficult. but today many people think such getting old is like carring burden. why are such disturbing thoughts coming out of their mind . when they get older too ,then their children will consider them as burdens. am i correct ? why is there such feling twisting in peoples mind ?
