Is John Mayer in it for the money or the music?

Give me your opinion on whether Mayer plays his music because he loves what he does, or because he loves the check he receives for doing it.

Obviously, he loves what he does. You can plainly see it in the way he writes his songs. His lyrics are so human and full of compassion. If he is just after the money, he can just write some crappy lyrics like the ones in novelty songs and sell them like pancakes.
