Laker Fans Go Too Far!!! / myLot

I just received a KNX news alert about the madness that took place on June 17, 2010. After the Lakers victory over the Celtics. I don't understand why something considered to be nice would cause so many to act so ugly. I was on my way home that night and someone had lit something on fire, right in the middle of the street. I understand the excitement, but why does it give way to such violence and mayhem. I had not realized until seeing these photos, just how bad things were. I've always liked sports, but I can't see how a great victory could ever inspire fans to become so destructive. No doubt a lot of those involved were intoxicated, but that's no excuse. The out of control fans ruin things for everyone else and put the whole sport into disrepute...I wonder if they ever think about that. Maybe when they sober up.
