First of all what you need to do is call the credit card company and ask about a hardship program. If you qualify, it will halt all your interest and fees. Then cut up your credit cards and do not use them ever again!
Benjamin Franklin said, "It is easy to run into debt but you have to crawl out of it." It will not be easy to get out from under this debt. It will take time and you will have to be very strict on your budget.
If you don't qualify for a hardship program with your credit card, shop around for a consumer credit counseling program. Be very careful you get one that is reputable and isn't going to charge you an arm and a leg for their help. If you can't find help there, talk to your banker and ask his advice. He can help you recover from this.
Bottom line, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER use a credit card again! They are evil and will suck you dry if you're not careful. Good luck!

I have lived my life with credit cards and without them. I have found that i am much happier without credit cards. When i had them, all i was doing was worrying about paying the bills. It's not worth the hassle.

Credit cards are useful for me but I use it with caution, too. In my case, I do see to it that I pay my bills on time and as much as possible, I list down all my transaction with its date of purchase so that I can control my budget. Also, I see to it that I have my budget prior to spending. I do not want my bills to incur interest and agents calling out for the payment.

We have 5 credit cards. We have zero debt. How? Only when we have money in the bank do we use our credit cards. I have no idea how much revolving credit we have but we never use it. Did we always say that? NO! It took a long time to crawl out of that hole and we are never going back!

credit card actually is an effective way to manage money but this also depends how you anticipate the installment facility which owned by your credit card. When credit card bills reach the highest level, generally I'm turn it into installment transactions and thus are not my financial burdens

Credit cards are a pain in the A R S E, if you rely on them like I did in the beginning. Now I have learnt my lesson, and although I still have 1 I don't really use it... it is there for an emergency back up only. They are expensive with the interest rates too, I know mine was. The best way to think of your credit cards is to say to yourself... it's not my money if I use it I will have to pay it back even if I don't have the money, and I might get charged even more for using it.
