Dreams are compelling and always seem so strange.Dreams are the only one thing that we do in our life without our intention. As per my opinion dreaming is the by product of our brain's sorting process. I think whatever our brain is doing to sort and assimilate our experience and thoughts of the day, triggers dreams.Dreams occurs accidentally and I do not think there is any purpose behind it.A dream may remind you something you have forgotten but I don't think dreams exists for that function. But some people believe in dreams and they always try to interpret their dreams and try to find meaning behind it.

Hi crazy_poster, I don't believe that dreams has some meaning, sometimes in the dreams the connection will be missing from one thing to another. And i don't think there is a purpose behind it. I always have a confusion about dreams. Some times i will be getting dreams repeatedly about the same.

In my phychology book ,even scientists cannot say the complete meaning of dreams. It seems that your emotion center of the brain is active during the dream and your logic center is inactive during the dream...So, dream is the reasting process of the brain and we have vivid dream!!

theres too many reason why people dream, first they are stress or tired, second they think too much about the things or that person to the point that it reflect to their mind even during sleeping. once a people stress theres too many images that will create inside their mind, same thing while your in the dark with a little light, you can see a lot of images in different angle from reflections of the light, images that what your mind say while others see different. same thing in mind, if your mind is tired it will create a lot of reflections, so it is like hallucination and delusion.

Hi Crazy poster: Honestly I think that dreams represents our fears, desires and some aspects of our personality. Sometimes we can't express some of the thoughts that are on our minds and we express them in our dreams. Every dream is different so we can consider ourselves as artists because we create a different world everytime we sleep. I think that in some special cases people have the ability to know the future in their dreams but these are special cases, so I think just as you do that dreams don't have a meaning but a mixture of our memories. Thanks for asking us this question. Have a nice day. ALVARO

Dreams are just the imagination of what we really want in life or something that we have always been afraid of but we been afraid to admit that we are afraid of that something. They can become true or not. Some times when some incidents happen you recall that something like this has happened before to you somewhere and that it's like deja vu all over again. Then you realize that this happened in your dream and then you want to say or share it with some ine. But then you figure out that no one would actually believe whatever you said because they didn't have your dream. Ya maybe some can really interpret dreams but i have never seen or heard of any one who can do so. So dreams are just dreams but nothing can actually or really be said about them...

During sleep, while our body and its various functions are resting the mind is still active and awake. Paradoxically, it is more active than it was during the time we were wide-awake. Mind experiences succession of thoughts, images, sounds and emotions, which more often than not we forget after we are awake; however, sometimes we vividly remember our dreams. Mind is indulging in this activity not uselessly. There ought to be some purpose. Not all the thoughts, images, sounds and emotions are our immediate perceptions. Some of these are from the past, as early as our childhood. Some thoughts are much unconnected. Some images we see in the dreams are the ones we had never seen before. May be our mind creates these images through its power to imagine. Sometimes we find ourselves doing things we normally never do; as one who does not know driving will find he is driving. Sometimes we see ourselves flying in a way we humans can never fly. Why mind engages itself in all this sort of weird activity? Very often, we compare our mind to computer. As computer, it also computes. While we are dreaming, our mind is computing. Meaning, our mind is calculating; determining something by mathematical or logical methods. As in computer, we have many folders to file the work we do. Our mind too has compartments to file the information we perceive. Whenever we are doing something, which we have done before, the mind immediately files it. If the experience is new then mind does not know where to file it. In our mind, we have a kind of haversack, where mind dumps all the unconnected information. While we are in a deep sleep, the mind pulls out all the information and views it to see where it can file it. If the information is unconnected, it creates a new folder for it. Dreams appear to us incoherent for this reason. Before it creates a new folder, the mind rummages through all the compartments, past and present. Sometimes it delves deeper into our unconsciousness to see if there is any relevant experience in our past lives. Therefore, we see things we had never seen before. Mind creates folders and subfolders in three major compartments of our mind. We already know these compartments. These are conscious, subconscious and unconscious. Each morning we wakeup we feel fresh. The reason is we wake up with a new settled mode of behavior. Sorting is not the only thing mind does while we dream. Sometimes, dreams provide us an answer to our long outstanding unresolved questions. Floyd Ragsdale, while working with duPont, faced a problem with a machine that manufactured Kevlar fiber. Kevlar is the material used in bulletproof vests. One night, Ragsdale, had a dream. He saw the tubes of a machine and springs. His boss scoffed at the idea but Ragsdale went ahead. He inserted springs into the tubes. The machine worked perfectly, saving the company more than $3 million. A dream led Elias Howe to beat Singer to the patent for the sewing machine. In the dream, Howe was in a jungle surrounded by natives holding spears, with holes near their tips. When he woke, he realized that putting the hole near the tip of the needle would make a working sewing machine. Thus, we can see we can solve our problem not only by working on them but also by sleeping over it.

people says that when you miss someone who would probably appear in your dream. In China there is a book which analyses many kinds of scenes appeared in your dream. some theory is scientific and some i think just funny story.

nope they dont have any meaning behind it .......i dont there is some meaning behind it....its just our thoughts ....we will get something in dreams what we have thought on the whole day..maximum times the dreams are meaning less ....and we get dreams only when we wake up and sleep again during night..... when we wake up for a minute or for half a minute then the subconscious mind gets inactive means conscious mind gets active means our brain starts working during sleep from that time .....so we watch that things in dream with has been told by brain or which has been thought by brain......thats it happy mylotting

Oh,my God! This is an old question for many people. Dreams do exist for man's mind.Every night, many people have dreams, including good dreams and bad dreams. Whether it is good or bad,the scientists have been doing research on them and try to find what caused people to dream. Up to now,no one can give a reasonable and scientific explanation about dreams and why people can have dreams during sleeping. However, according to analysis from the philosophy book, dreams are just reflection of mind, thoughts or what people did in day time. In daily life,if someone has bad dream,he or she will say that he or she will have a bad luck;otherwise a good luck. I think it is not scientific or has no scientific evidence to prove. So I don't believe that dreams mean anything behind it. But we are all looking forward to the correct reply from the scientists in the future.
