My iPod has no sound at all

I recently discovered that my iPod has no sound even if I remove the earphone the loud speaker has no sound even it's playing already, this happens when I tried to attach it to a big speaker as a sound driver and after that this happens. Do you know any solutions about this problem? Or this is the end of my iPod?

I heard about this problem before, if you are lucky a simple ristore should "bring it back to life. But it is porbably the common problem. My hypothesis it's that there is a bad solder joint on a specific component that has to do with the audio. I reccomed taking it to an authorized repair shop.
