What's good antivirus program? I want powerful antivirus that can detect all kinda virus, and use small resources, such as small amount of memory usage and or CPU usage. I used Kaspersky, but my comp still attacked by virus or worm, i dunno. So i uninstalled it, though the license still 100+ more days. Any suggestion?

Hi ! Welcome to myLot , i'm new to myLot too :) Well, I've been using BitDefender for many years and it hasn't fail me until now except for the time when the BitDefender catastrophe happened where all the BitDefender version running on Windows Vista 64bit deleted all the system files. So I would strongly recommend BitDefender.

NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO, DO NOT DOWNLOAD IS2010 a.k.a Internet Security 2010. It is a rouge anti-virus, in which disables your task manager, puts "FAKE" viruses in your computer to make you want to buy it, It does not allow you to uninstall and causes a lot of problems for you. A couple good anti-viruses are Spy-Sweeper, which is a P2U program but is VERY effective in eliminating viruses. Trend-Micro Antivirus, which is also a good P2U program, but comes with a couple complications, it will stop any "Suspisious" program from running unless you disable the feature. AVG Free v9.0 is a free anti-virus, but has some minor defects, such as it will delete some files that are considered a virus, it will block some websites that are not virus/bad sites. So Overall, test all of them out, and choose which on you like.

I've been using a free antivirus. It's Avast. I like Avast. It's very reliable. It blocks some sites that have malware or virus in it. And it's free! LOL. PS, Don't use limewire or torrent. Use 4shared instead. It has kapersky so all the files you download are sure virus free!

In my opinion, Avast and Avira are good free anti-virus softwares. They provide update and detects trojans and worms that other anti-virus software could not detect. I am not sure though if it can detect Conficker virus, but I am sure Sophos Anti-Virus software can. Kaspersky is probably one of the best, as it has several intrusion policies. You have to fully scan your computer immediately after installation to make sure that the computer is clean. The negative effect of that is that it is memory intensive and may slow down processes in your PC. You can also turn on the firewall in your PC for added protection.

Kaspersky Antivirus Suite is the Best of the lot out there .It's security is so strict that it intrudes in your internet browsing as well :) . Another Good Anti virus program is ESET smart security Suite , which is easy to install , comes with a good firewall and is low on resources . Among the Free programs , Avast and Panda seems to be good . Last but not the Least !! - No Anti virus program is good unless it is updated properly and regularly !!

If your're looking for a really simple program try Panda Cloud antivirus or Comodo Antivirus if you want something with more features. These two are quite good on resources, memory and cpu usage. They detect all types of viruses, BUT no antivirus can detect every single virus that exists.

Kaspersky is the best antivirus...! It doesn't hang your PC and works in the background without causing any problems in the performance of the PC..! It actively detects virus, malwares, spywares and removes them....! It blocks popups and unwanted adds very maturely..! It comes at a fair price of 800-900 Rupees (one year validity)
