I think normally such money transfer progress will automatically converting you money to the recipient's account currency unit. Such thing is normal on financial business. So although you send the money using USD currency to your friend in France who has account in Euro, it doesn't a matter for your friend to receive the money. The only one problem perhaps is the exchange rate which you probably will need to recalculate your transfer first before you send it to your friend. It depends on what kind of currency unit which you both agree to deal, is it US Dollar or Euro. If you both deal in US Dollar, than just make sure that your friend know if you send the correct amount in US Dollar to your friend. Or if you both deal in Euro, as the sender you need to match your US Dollar amount after converted into Euro with the correct amount which you both have deal before. It will be converted to dollars for you but you must keep in mind the fees and exchange rates for such a transaction and there are limits as to how much you can transfer.
