First of all, when i'm talking about religion,i should honestly confess one thing. Most of discussions i start on mylot are only because i want to make some money. But i'm starting this discussion because i genuinely want to discuss about this topic so please reply and try to explain as much as you can. Friends i have a big doubt regarding these religions,Jews,Islam and Christianity. Both christians and jews believe that world was started by a common god.I guess muslims have a similar kind of belief too. I don't understand this whole deal. Why there is difference between these three religions. I mean there are some people who worship him and the same time claim that he's son of god.So why worshiping son of god? I mean why don't one worships god rather then worshiping god's son? Those people are known as christians i guess. Some say he was crucified and never came back. Some of his followers smuggled his body out of his grave so that he could be resurrected. They don't worship him. Those people in my opinions are jews.So i don't understand that why don't jews worship jesus when jesus himself was a jew. I completely don't understand that what role in Islam does jesus play as you are mentioning something about him. I don't want to offend anybody or create a riot over here. I'm just ignorant about this stuff so i want to know more.I belong to a Hindu family so obviously i have no idea regarding this. Moreover, the society i live in consists mostly of hindus. The little knowledge i've is all because of stuff i read over internet. This topic always fascinated me so i love reading and discussing it.So please help me out of this frustation.

Hi dear roxyoo7 I'm a muslim and want to clear your concept about this whole matter in the light of Islam. According to Islam ,God (Allah) created this whole world and all the people. But to make the people aware of his presense he sent his messengers(prophets) from Time to Time. So in this way according to Islam Allah sent a total of one lakh sixty four thousand messengers of him who told the people about the existance of Allah and all the rules Allah have made for their proper maintainance of life such as practicing namaz (worshipping Allah) and other forms of worship. Hazrat Eisa(Jesus Christ) and Hazrat Moosa(Jew God) were among the messenger of Allah.(This is the connection of Jesus with Islam) They never told people that they are God themselves but they always told them that Allah is the only God and always suggested them Allah's path of Truth. But Some people misunderstood them for being God may be due to the powers they were granted from Allah as His messengers. Such people became Jews or Christians. Muslim still respect the Jesus and Jew God as the prophets and messenger of Allah but they dont consider them God.. For muslims believe that their is only one God and that is Allah. Prophet Mohammad was the last messenger sent by Allah on this earth for the betterment of humanity and for leading the society towards truth and Allah's way. I hope this will clear your concepts about this topic. take care. -Miraz :)

Miraz what a wonderful story. I too have been a Christian all my life raised this way and I had no idea the connection to our different beliefs All I know is that I am not afraid of one culture or another and that there is ALWAYS something new we can learn from our many friends of different faiths I think cultures and faith is what makes our melting pot of differnces so wonderful. Thank you again for your knowledge on this subject I for one am always eager to learn. Marie

Well i never meant to offend any one's religious sentiments And Lochrin you should not create a kinda riot here. Islam respects Jesus not as the son of God for but as his messenger so saying that Islam corrupts Jesus is irrelevant. But I dont want to get into any kind of religious arguments and dont want to hurt anybody's feelings so I would just not comment on this issue anymore.

hi... as far as i know, all religion has one God but each has their own names for Him. despite of those names we still are united and that is we have faith in that God.

All three of these faiths worship one God. They just don't agree on who God is or what His will is for us. The Jews and Christians worship the same God, The Christians, however, believe in a triune God, one God with three distinct aspects: (1) God the Father, immortal, invisible - Ex 33:20 "But," He said, "you cannot see My face, for no man shall see Me and live." (2) God the Son, God in the flesh - John 1:14 "And the Word (God the Son) became flesh (incarnate) and dwelt among us..." (3) God the Holy Spirit, God whose presence indwells the believers - John 14:16 "And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter that He may remain with you forever." While there are some who believe Muslims worship the same God as the Jews and Christians, I don't believe that's the case because the revelation given to Mohammad doesn't line up with the Bible.

They do. Christianity is a continuation of Judaism. Christians are the new jews, they worship the same God as the jews, the God of Abraham, whom the muslims also worship. Christians worship God's son because it is God. Who else other than God would be worthy to be a sacrifice for mankind's sins? Muslims consider Jesus a prophet. Jews don't worship Jesus, because they don't consider him to be the messiah, and some modern jews will even deny the scripture of a messiah written in their holy books.

hi roxyoo7, You've got a nice question. I guess all humans believe there is only one god, but why there are so many religion? (by the way religion means reconnection to god) why there is muslim and even christianity alone are many congregations? let the bible answer your question, let us read it in the book of romans 10:3 "for they being ignorant of god's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of god." If you notice, they establish their own church. remember there is a commandment of christ is matthew 6:33 it says " seek ye first the kingdom of god and his righteousness...." when we say first that means a priority, the first one you will do. That's why there are many religion because they did not seek the righteousness of god, they establish there own church. Man has no right to establish his own church otherwise it is void or will not be acknowledge by god (matthew 7:23) In fact there is already a church which Jesus Christ built himself (please read matthew 16:18)What we should do is to enter that church which where christ is head (col 1:18)and follow his commandment. See? if all of us enter that one church which christ built, then there is only one church, right? Hope you've got my point.

@lendmhe: Don't be absurd. For most of human history, people have believed there are many Gods. There is no shortage of us who continue to do so.
